I have a vx2835wm 28" viewsonic monitor that has been having some problems lately and is now no longer turning on. For several months it has had a problem turning on. I would press the power button and nothing would happen. The power light would not turn on. I would unplug the monitor and plug it back in and then it would turn on and operate without any issues. When this started happening I opened up the monitor and found a few bad caps on the motherboard, not the power supply. I replaced them but that made no difference. I let the problem go as I could still use the monitor.
Last night I pressed the power button and the backlight started flashing with no image on the screen. Unplugging it and plugging it back in no longer works. There is no image on the screen. Not even the on screen display. The flashing is consistent and timed such that it reminds me of an electrical short. The flashing is a new problem that has not happened before.
Here are some pictures of the boards. The pictures looked better when I took them from my phone last night. I will try to get some better ones tonight. If it might be helpful I can try to take a video of the flashing.
