    AL2216W Back-lighting Problems

I recently got a Acer AL216W Version: AL2216W bd from a friend. The screen turns on and goes dark then turns on shows the desktop and goes blank. By holding my iPhone's light I can see the image on the screen. I found a new power board assuming a component on it was the problem from reading other threads however the problem is still there and the seller assured me that all the components on the board were tested and working prior to him selling it.

I am new to this area of electronics and i am eager to learn. I have a basic multi-meter at my disposal.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you replaced the Power supply/inverter board and you still get 2-second to balck, then the next place to look will be the lamp assemblies.

I disassembled the LCD and looked a the back-lights and they look fine (attached a picture of one, the other one looks identical in terms of ware).

Can they still be bad and look fine?

Also is the a way to test them?

You can hook the lamps back up, you do not need to the the T-CON board connection between the LCD panel and the Main/Logic board connected, but you do need to have it hooked up to running PC. It only has one set of lamps?
I can see blackened end of the lamps, also gently tug on the the wires to see if it will easily come off due to poor soldering works.

          Re: AL2216W Back-lighting Problems

Under closer analysis of the bulbs noticed a small crack on the bottom of one of the lamps and I am having them sent out for repair. I will post results when I get them back.

No it has two sets of bulbs

When I say repair I sent them to a service where they replace the bulbs test them and send them back. I could not find a website where they just sold the bulbs so I could do it my self.

Lol should of been more specific
