Hi,
I have been lurking this site for advice, but I have never come across a problem that hadn't already been solved on here. Well It Just Happened
I got a free Viewsonic vp211b from a friend, he said it had been sitting in his shop for a long time and had never worked, just wavies lines and stuff. I took it home and popped off the back. I found what looked like a homemade inverter board that had been hacked in there. I looked it up and replacements are around $30 bucks, seems like its worth the cost, but when the fix was made, maybe they were pricer. most of the wires had been hooked up to the right plugs, but were not attached, i attached them and flipper her on, I GOT PICTURE! but it was very dim, like even with the bright up all the way, it was still rather dim. it worked ok with the lights out in the room though... anyway. i have posted pics of the jerry rigged "pcb" and what its supposed to look like. My question is : given the evidence that its kinda working, Would buying a real inverter and re-attaching the wires bring this monitor back to full glory?
Thanks,
Freetoad
