Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
Wayback machine doesn't have that link so no idea what was on it.
But we can troubleshoot normally of course. If the capacitors have not been replaced they will be the prime suspects. Open the thing and take a look. Post some photos up.

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
hi everyone, i was looking for that as well. im new here and new to electronics in the deeper sense! i have one of these monitors, when i first plugged it in the light on the power adaptor went dim as if it was being shorted out when plugged in, after inserting in and out a number of times it did come on once and power adaptor light remained strong. tried another 12v adaptor [not sure what amp] and this worked in so far as the monitor stays switched on but there is only an actual picture on the screen for 1 second, and then goes to black screen. could this be the inverter also or could the lamps be drawing to much power as old?Leave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
Hi All, bit of a long shot does anyone have a copy for the original repair at http://bbarrington.posterous.com/neovo-lcd-repair which is now down? I the believe initial repair is re-soldering the coil?
Cheers, Jeff.Leave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
HI if you look at the picture i have attached ,
i only used 12v pin ,gnd pin and on/off pin but still had lamp brightness adjustment .
Try it this way and if you cant adjust the brightness you will have to connect the adj pin .
I will check my notes to see which one it was
Good luckLeave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
Hi i have redone pic
All components in the yellow area remove
If the 2 caps circled in red are ok dont change them
And you can take 12v supply straight from the pin circled in green
Been a while since i have done this monitor and to the best of my knowledge it is still running and have done several others since.
If i can help just ask
yes, it's exactly what i was wondering for.
Caps are ok, replaced them in the first repair attempt.
So, what we are looking for it's simply a clean 12v power supply?
Since we are removing the 4 transformers, also the 4 mosfets have no reason to be there, right?
I mean, powering the new board directly with 12V +On/Off pin sense, would put lamps on,losing the ADJ pin functionality? Thanks for helpingLeave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
Hi guys, sorry for resuming up this old thread
I repaired this monitor about 2 years ago following this thread, replaced caps and placed 1xIRF5305 in place of a blown mosfet. It worked well for a long time but now i have blown F1 and about 15V coming from U4 source pin, even with F1 removed. I decided to put in an universal inverter board, found tons of them on ebay for just few euros. Looking to Sabre504 post, i have to cut off some of the old electronic to make room for the new inverter board.
Look this ebay item :221205651995
It has pin definition as:
1.VCC, 2.VCC, 3.ON/OFF, 4.ADJ, 5.GND, 6.GND
So it would be okay for the neovo, rewiring in the right way.
What part of the old board do i have to keep functional, seeing that i need only 12v as vcc and on/off is routed by the front switchboard? Thank you in advanceLeave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
Yes, I use ccfl with all other lamps plugged and checked it by rotation.Leave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
When you used the ccfl from the laptop to test,, this was done with all the other lamps still in situ ??? and then substituted for each of the lamps in turn,BUT all lamps must be plugged in when this is done.Leave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
I connected laptop ccfl bulb for test, it light up for half of a second, then it goes blank.
Tests, I've made:
Just in case I re-solder bad solder joint on the main coil at the bottom-left of the inverter by this manual http://bbarrington.posterous.com/neovo-lcd-repair
Checked four mosfets with multimeter, they're ok.
I opened external power adapter, there are no bad caps.
About capacitors, I used only new Panasonic, Samhwa and checked with a capacitance meter.
C41: 1000uF 10v
C43: 470uF 25v
C5 + C6: 220uF 25vLast edited by Crauler; 10-31-2012, 02:28 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
Sounds like you need to make a couple of test lamps.

Two things need checking, does the Power led stay green when the PC is connected and the screen is Black ???/...and Can I assume you do not have a spare backlight to use in testing ??Leave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
Hello, I've Neovo E-17DA, screen goes black in half a second.
I've replaced all four capacitors, two fuses ok, but screen still goes black in half a second.
All four transformers show 1.0 kOhm. External psu should be good.
Any ideas?Leave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
I bought my inverter from a company called Semaforz on ebay they are based in Czech Republic they do several types.
Item number 110642904624 is the same as the one i used just a different colour .
Depending on where you are would depend on time it takes to get to you
i bought a few so no waiting .
If you need more help or info just let me knowLeave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
We have had good success replacing the caps but have come across the same issues you had with the transistors being burnt out.
Just wondered if anyone had the part number for new inverter board or for the board you have used in your fix?
Any help would be gratefully receivedLeave a comment:

Re: AG Neovo E-17DA
Just an update
Picture 1
red mark soldered in a pin giving 12v DC
yellow Ground (removed brown wire to place in grond for inverter)
Green on/off (removed green wire to place in grey for inverter on )
Picture 2
Removed all transformers ccfl plugs and ballst resistors to make a clear flat area for new inverter and replaced the 2 x 220uf 63v with 220uf 25v (kept these in as they are part of the 12v circuit.
Picture 3
The almost finished product just need 2 x sticky pads to hold the new inverter in place before final assembly.
Tested and working even still have all menu controls (brightness ,osd and volume)Leave a comment:

Hi, Im trying to find the area on the chip that contains all of my laptops information, but I havent found it. The laptop won't turn on anymore. I was updating the BIOS, and it was supposed to reboot itself, but it wouldnt turn back on. I ve tried every possible solution, every alternative on Lenovo forums, everywhere; I ve taken it to technicians, and no one has been able to fix it. I've already read the chip that contains the BIOS (Winbond 25Q128JSVQ) and searched for my laptops data, but they're nowhere to be found. I only find scribbles and lines of text indicating errors. Has anyone had a...

by corrizeHello, I search this connector (oxydated).
It's a fpc zif low profile connector. It come from camera sensor, it is very small : 0.3mm between 2 pins.
I ordered 2 from Aliexpress called « 0.3mm pitch » but one was 0.5mm between 2 pins and the other 0.6mm. In fact « 0.3mm pitch » seams to be the pad width and not the distance between 2 pins.
I can't find it. The other websites like mouser dont show the datasheet, and I can't check if it is 0.3mm between 2 pins ?
Do you know how to find this connector please ? What is the exact name for find it ?
