Where can I find a DD3 128000 type memory but 32 MGB in one module because this laptop has only one slot

This Dell computer is a pain in the a** because of it only has one memory slot this computer only had 4 megabytes of memory and slower than shit I found a 8 megabyte memory module and it is better but still slow as shit the maximum is 32 megabytes of RAM but I was not able to find one I found some that are 16 megabytes but they are 1600/128000 type and I am not sure if this computer will work with this type of memory or not

Dose anyone knows where I can find a 32 megabytes memory module for this computer because the battery still works fairly well still I would like to use it on my battery testing machine but I can not deal with how slow it is if I can not find a memory module that will fit to I will probably part it out because of its one memory slot crap

Unless you have a memory controller with support for registered memory, you're limited to 16GiB/module. If you have an Intel memory controller, it's probably 8GiB/module (The only Intel udimm ddr3 memory controller that supports 16GiB/module are atoms/avoton.) I have heard anectdotal evidence some amd memory controllers can work with 16GiB modules ... and they are sorta rare as not all machines can work with them.

Thanks for your reply if this is the case then I will probably part it out

        solder another socket
then again it probably isn't drawn on the pcb...but the mem controller should have the pins...

Dang I'm still using ddr3 (and some ddr2) machines... alas I now have a 64GiB DDR3 machine (UDIMM)... 8x8 and theoretically can use 16's, but I don't have any.

If low end computers were not available I might consider trying this but the computer I am referring too was middle of low end to middle of range of computers and it about 5 to 7 years old so it not really worth it to me to go that route I found a eBay seller that has a 16 megabyte memory module but it says 1600/28000 type of memory chip and I not sure if it would work for about $75.00 for an open box listing one side of the memory module says 1600 and the other side says 28000 I am not sure what to make of this is it capable with a 28000 or would it either one I do not think I have seen this before in memory modules

I also have some really old desktop computers as well but I might also some old laptops computers but this one is one of the newer ones that I have I have investigate what type of memory any of these computers have and see how easy it is to get and what the cost

The only computer that I have that has windows 11 and I basically use it to download software for my battery testing machine for my old desktop HP elite 8200 and 8300 which actually does the plotting software that records the entire event results which these computers which uses windows 7 only and are not able to access the internet at all and done purposely first of all these computers are to old to really surf the internet fast enough for me in the first place unless you max out the memory then they are decent for surfing the internet until next year when Windows 10 will no longer be available for updates not acceptable for me

But eventually I will be using the Windows 11 computer for 3D printing software but right now I really do not have the time to devote to it when I bought this computer I was seriously considering retiring and going to part time work but somethings changed and I have wait year or so before I can travel down this road

One note about Windows 11 and there updates I have the computer on a HDMI switch adapter so it is mostly on the cable box it was in the sleep mode but when I tried to wake it up the monitor screen was undetectable by monitor until I power cycled the computer several times the screen finally came on and showed that it was doing an update really I have seen this nonsense before on other versions of windows before it just hang up and is in limbo and it might come back to life again and be normal again I would have thought that Microsoft would have fixed this problem with the newest version of Windows really nothing seems to have gotten better

Since it's a consumer grade intel machine it likely won't handle 16's but you should check. It's the server grade intel machines that may support 16's but not always. Theoretically the m/b I have has a firmware update to allow 16GiB modules due to it being a server chip with server memory controller...alas not sure if I'll ever see any 16GiB modules, cheaply... so I filled it with 8GiB units... cobbled together from multiple sources...

ebay.com item 166827180887 is a 16GB ddr3 UDIMM SODIMM...so they do exist... seeing a lot of references to apple hardware for these large modules, so assuming they're of the intel age with server cpus...

memory mod for amd radeon r7 260x
                by kokodin
Hello, for almost a year i been trying to make something that seems impossible, or my testing software is lying to me and it works only i can't see that.
I been trying to mod a memory on radeon hd7790 or 260x from 2 to 4 gb, but it doesn't seems to be as simple as i first thought.
In theory 2 workstation graphic cards using the same graphical processor have 4gb of memory firepro w4300 has 4 256x32b layout and W5100 has 8x 128x16b layout all use gddr5 memory and internals of the bioses seems to be very similar so i was trying to wing it , but so far it seems either tserver can't show...

Lenovo E14 replaced ddr4 memory module resulting in no boot
                by ongobongo
I am still working on an Lenovo e14 AMD notebook with some problems. The laptop booted normally but had a ton of problems with the soldered ddr4 memory. I tried deactivating the memory via bios, but that didn't work.
As i have a matching donor here, I decided to change the module i suspect to be faulty and exchange it with one of the donors.
Did so, but now the laptop won't boot anymore.
Anyone here who already did that and can comfirn, that exchangeing one module alone would work? Or do I need to exchange all 4 of them to make it work?

HP 840 G1 laptop wont start due to memory module issue
                by Kocane
I have this EliteBook 840 G1 laptop that won't start - it blinks on the caps- and numlock buttons 3 times which indicate issue with the memory modules. On one of the memory slots of the motherboard, I can see some corrosion (?) and my guess is that it's creating a short. At first I figured I could just omit using this slot but it wont start either way - also tried other RAM sticks of course.

I've tried to see if I could clean it up, but the laptop remains unbootable. Can it be because it has caused issue elsewhere or because it's still shorting in the memory module?
