How did you try and update it via usb if you don't have the firmware? Download it from Oink-yo

i downloaded the official firmware and put it on a USB drive but get an error
            as mentioned
i read that i can flash the nor chip (q8040) using a chip programmer but i need a firmware dump from another board

I was also reading that this might be able to be fixed using UART but not sure how

please i need lots of help
            thanks in advance

I take it you unzipped the 3 files and the 1 directory to the root of a clean FAT32 formatted usb stick.
              Do you get:

              Select the USB input source.
“Now Initializing...” appears on the AV receiver’s
display and then the name of the USB device is
displayed. It takes 20 to 30 seconds to recognize the
              USB device.

you might want to check / ensure that those processor boards have the proper electrical conditions (voltage / ground) to allow for proper operation before going down the path of trying to "manually write" the firmware. It is a strong possibility that there is a issue at the board level.

I have not seen this error, if you look it up on the internet you will see others that have had it. It says it is a time out error.

Have you checked the update procedure that tells you to configure the amp in a certain way before updating the firmware?

Yes I did but can't see anything on the tv. Can't get the osd to show. So no way me to turn off things. I have done the rest key combination so I assume it's ok

I have been thinking it might be a voltage problem but i cant get to the regulators as they are on the bottom of the board.
can I do any tests from the top or can i flip the board over with something underneath and test and
in order to do this do all the cables need to be attached
                                  Thanks so much
please can someone help who has worked on these boards
can someone tell me which regulators please

you probably need to look for the source of 3.3v or equivalent that is usually used for logic powering. You don't actually need the actual source (regulator or otherwise) at this point, just check test points on the various boards that show access or provide access to that type of powering so that you can check if it is there or not.

I have tested voltages on the following coils
                                          L8932 - 1.3V
                                          L8942 - 1.8V
                                          L8952 - 3.3V

                                            Onkyo TX-NR708 standby light
                                            by frankusb
                                            Hi,

My Onkyo TX-NR708 when plugged in the standby light turns on very briefly than goes out.

                                            I measured relative to GNDMPU
                                            1-MPOWER - 0.0002V
                                            2-+12VDG1+SUB - 11.7V
                                            3-GNDMPU
                                            4-+12RL - 0.318V
                                            5-/POFF - 10.49V

I found that C922 was out of spec and replaced it with a used replacement but no change. I feel like +12RL should be driven by T902 always under normal operation. Is that correct?...

Lithonia Lighting versus Light of America Compact Fluorescent product quality
                                            by sam_sam_sam
I have a Lithonia Lighting 65-Watt Gray Hardwired Compact Fluorescent

I also have back when Light of America had these light bulbs available for yard lights

The issue with Light of America was the blast boards had all most certain board failure while bulbs hardly ever fail

While the Lithonia lighting fixture has all most certain bulb failure

So I have modified the Lithonia lighting fixture to accept the Light of America light bulb and see how long this will last

I have only had this light fixture for not more than a year if it...
