    Harmon Kardon sub-ts5 problems

Hi I am having trouble with a Harmon Kardon powered Sub. Out of no where, the sub started making random popping/thunder sounds even when off. This sub has not been used very much and has never been abused.

I took the amp out and noticed that with it on, if I moved the little board (sorry, don't know what its called) that is soldered to the input board the noise would get worse or improve. This made me think it was a bad solder joint. I de-soldered the little board and scraped the glue that was put on it off. I cleaned the board with a brass toothbrush and re-soldered the header pins as well as the pins where the wire connector are. I also re-soldered the 2 caps on the little board as well as the 2 caps that are right next to the board on the input board.

I re-soldered the little board back onto the input board and tested it. Now, the sub works without the random popping/thunder sounds, but now it will not go into sleep mode (auto). If I unplug the input cable and select auto mode instead of on mode and plug the sub into the wall outlet, when the amp goes into sleep mode (red light instead of green) you get a constant rumbling sound even with the input wire disconnected. If I change it to on mode the rumbling goes away and the sub seems to work.

I am assuming it has something to do with the little board on the input board but am not sure where to begin. Please help.

You need to remove ALL those brown glues, they are conductive and corrosive so you need to remove them and see if any traces are damaged, you can use plastic tool or EXACTO knife to carefully remove the glues.

I did remove all the glue and cleaned the area with a brass bristle brush. Would bad caps cause this?

That little board you fixed is the limit control board.
Here is the service manual for the SUB-TS15. The boards looks like your boards, just with all the other extras that's missing on yours.

bad caps can cause it.. .sometimes flanky transisters too.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

              Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

              Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

problems with LG OLED 55EC930V, t-con board LC550LUD-LGP1
              by randaz81
I have an LG OLED 55EC930V.
The problem started a couple of days ago: tv working, but no video, only audio.

I opened the tv and I checked the parts. The mainboard has the red led on, which means that it working correctly. The power board supplies 24V correctly.

I focused my attention on the t-con board, LC550LUD-LGP1, I disconnected it to observe it carefully, no signs of damage. Then I mounted it again and I reconnected to the tv.

After this, the tv started to show a different behavior: it turns on and then, after few seconds, it turns off....
