Before getting distracted with capacitors, look for obvious shorted/open semiconductors, and open resistors in the power output section. You may eventually replace a capacitor or two, but unless they have leaked out onto the board, there is little chance of causing amplifier damage. My personal approach is to fix what is broken. I dislike throwing parts into a unit for no reason. Just my personal approach.Is it plugged in?Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Back in 2020 i bought a (2nd hand) compact ATX psu to replace my current one. My PC case only fits very short ATX power supplies so i didn't really have the choice of buying a decent 80Plus unit. The current unit is a modded YoungYear unit that i made a thread about a while ago:

The "new" unit is a KDM-M6480 480W psu, the 480W number is a typical KDM bullshit claim of course, but the 24A rating on the 12V rail seemed reasonable and the "Active PFC" claim gave me a bit of hope that this was going to be decent-ish.... -
I have seen some board on eBay and Aliexpress but I have not seen any for SMPS switching power board modules I would like to build one if I can not find one that is already made

Hi all
I've fixed a couple of FleXPower X7 power supplies. Since they have some logic outputs, I went to test them to make sure all was in order.
"Fan Fail" would work when the fan is manually stopped.
"Global DC" would change state when I manually adjusted one rail beyond 10%
"Global AC" doesn't seem to do anything. To test, I power up the PSU and then I remove power. The 5VSB and Aux rails remain active for quite a few seconds after power is removed. I see the rails collapsing but there is no change in the "Global AC"... -
