    One channel wonder?

I'm trying to fix my Desktop Acer Aspire M3100,(Vista OS)because it is only playing on one channel(left side) it is a 7.1 integrated that I only ever use on stereo, sometimes it wont work at all for about ten seconds then the left channel cuts back in,I can just barely hear the right speaker if I listen carefully when doing a sound test.yet it works fine with headphones plugged into the front but if I use the front headphone plug for my speakers it wont work,Ive tried everything I can think off to fix this including changing drivers, contact cleaner ect... Can anyone solve this mystery for me?could I use a sound card to get around this? Any help greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's poor solder joint on the actual speaker?

Did it just suddenly develop this fault or did it come on over a period.
Are the internal speakers plugged in to the mother board correctly?
Can you try some other speakers on the motherboard.
Can you take the speakers out and try them on another sound source.

      What motherboard is it?

If it's like a Realtek chip that supports jack retasking try using a different jack as the stereo output.

Yes the fault just appeared one day,Well I lent it to someone and this is how it came back? I'm using an analog amplifier and speakers that work flawlessly on anything else.Mother board ID F690GVM,I don't have a service manual for the MB but I am presuming that the plugs are all in the right place? Could it be oxidation in the output box,the green output plug feels a little loose as well, would it be safe to unsolder it to check it out?

I dont know the motherboard at all - looked online but couldnt see much
right at the edge on one picture somethingwas labelled speaker but couldnt tell what it was. Perhaps some pictures would help us?
If you have confident at soldering Id say give it a go will you be able to see any
            better if unsoldered?
