    Counterfeit Sanyo WG?

Hey guys I'm new here so I need you guy's opinion on some capacitors I bought off eBay. I have seen many Sanyo capacitors with K & T top and crooked "+" vents with dumbell and T bungs. The ones I bought were completely different from the one's I've seen on this forum. The bungs (bottom) were the same as the CapXon capacitors that I will be replacing. I just don't want to take any chance with inferior capacitors. Here are some images:

PS the seller had 100% pos feedback and have sold a ton of these same capacitors before. Please give me some input. Thanks.

I bought a bag of those from eBay-vendor yvonnewindy, and those were fake. ESR varied between 0.04 and 0.06, differentiated by the two different types of bungs (one similar to yours) that the caps came with. Should be 0.016 according to the datasheet. All genuine Sanyos I've seen, has the K shaped vent. Between Christmas holiday, and a lot of work, I forgot to put in a negative feedback for you fellow eBayers before the time limit ran out. I've seen other vendors peddling the same fakes.

Seem to be a lot of fake WGs out there. I've seen obvious fakes from several eBay vendors. I will not buy another Sanyo off eBay, unless the vent is depicted, or the vendor is known to sell good stuff. When it comes to capacitors, I don't really trust eBay feedback. Most buyers don't have an ESR-meter, and so can't test them properly.

I didn't pay much for the ones I bought, so the most irritating thing was that I was to late to put in the negative feedback. It would have been nice to have a eBay capacitor vendor hall of shame in the forum.

They look fake. Someone on here (I think it was willa but I'm not sure) said that a Sanyo rep told him that ALL Sanyo caps have the K vent.

Thats fake, Sanyo always uses the K vent or the crooked + sign.

Thank you for all the feedback. Nice to know that these are fake, luckily I have some extra Nippon Chemi-con KZH to replace them with.

That bunge - does anyone think also that that is a CapXon?
"We have offered them (the Arabs) a sensible way for so many years. But no, they wanted to fight. Fine! We gave them technology, the latest, the kind even Vietnam didn't have. They had double superiority in tanks and aircraft, triple in artillery, and in air defense and anti-tank weapons they had absolute supremacy. And what? Once again they were beaten. Once again they scrammed [sic]. Once again they screamed for us to come save them. Sadat woke me up in the middle of the night twice over the phone, 'Save me!' He demanded to send Soviet troops, and immediately! No! We are not going to fight for them."

Every Sanyo WG I've seen had the K vent, but here are some WX and CA Sanyos with overlapping X vents, bought from BDent.com:

larrymoencurly, I've seen sanyo with that type of vent on a motherboard before. IIRC it was an Acer.

These appear to be genuine (from an ASUS video card):
