    It's a ferrite bead (EMI filter): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrite_bead

Removing and throwing these away is equivalent of killing a kitten to any radio enthusiast.

Eventually wifi and cellular service are included...

I am fixing Coby 23 inch TV, they put that Emi protector on lvds cable. if it is so good how come they don't use right now (anymore)?

This is entertainment equipment, not military or outer space equipment. Sometimes TVs came with metal casing. I threw in the garbage also and so far so good. No one complains

Those thing are used so the device will pass FCC compliance tested and it depends on how well the device are made and put together as a whole.

Which software do you guys have the best of luck with for recovering corrupt photos?
            by AJ847.63e
            Hi All,

My WD external drive I used to use for my backups recently decided to go belly up on me so I've been playing around with different bits of software to try see if I can recover it and just wanted to get some advise on which programs you guys have the most success with.

Yes I've cloned the drive and no I'm not paying a grand to take it to a professional. If I can get some stuff back great, which I have, but there's still quite a lot I haven't. It's not worth taking to a professional though it's only my programming courses and vacation stuff so it's a nice to...

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

            New Lenovo Yoga L13 Gen4
            by terragady
Hi, does anyone got into their hand the new yoga? We have purchased leftover stuff after bankrupted small company where 3 of those laptops were, we got only passwords for windows which is useless. They have set supervisor password in the bios. While I was able to do a clean windows install but I would like to have full access to the bios. The internals of laptop look much different from my previous Yoga experience. Can I still use CH341A to flash EC chip to reset supervisor password? The old routine will work here?

            by ChaosLegionnaire

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Long story short... ccfl's failed, bought this "ca-155" led replacement but can't identify pin/wire assignment on both power supply board and logic board since neither have anything printed over the pcb, no ENA, DIM, VCC, GND, 5v, BL-ADJ or anything like that, nothing!!!
