    NTC thermistor

hi guys long time no see

currently repairing a samsung bluray player with a blown NTC part no,NTC3D-9 due to a suspected surge, all surrounding components test fine, bridge, caps, diodes mosfets etc..

the NTC is a 3 OHM 4 AMP,im un-able to find the exact part number..

i found a 3 OHM 5.4AMP NTC from RS components,my question is will the higher amperage NTC cause any problems?,and what is the function of the amp rating of the NTC?,does it limit at 4AMP the current going into the power supply?,or is that the max rating the NTC will take before destruction?

cheers guys hope you are all well
fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

Edit! just read thats a pulled used part so maybe best to go with the rs part im sure budm will advise if the part you have chose is ok.

      Re: NTC thermistor

It will work fine, it just means it can handle a bit more current than the original, when the unit is working all the current of the unit must flow through it so it has to handle at least that amount of current, going higher is not a problem.

Can not find Model/Value of Thermistor.
        by nmbb
        Machine: Autoclave.
        Brand/Model: SANYO MLS-3780
Manual: (Sorry search option not working on this PDF)

Hello guys, this autoclave running with 2 thermistors already connected TH1 and TH3(on CN1,CN2 sockets). One for the water temperture and second one for chamber temperature. But there is another emtpy socket for optional third thermistor CN2 wich is for TH2 for object temperature. I wanna add the third thermistor TH2 to CN2 socket. But i can't figure what model/brand/value i need to use. In manual document, there is no info about TH1 and TH3 model number...

Is it no harm to replace with capacitor without ripple current rating?
        by chth96
When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.

Judging from above ESR Meter Table,I think It is necessary to replace this sms capacitor. So I visited local electronics shop, and I purchased 160v 2.2uf rubycon YK capacitor.
But when I browse through rubycon YK datasheet,I found that there is no ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf specification. But On the contrary, I found 39 mA ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf SMS capacitor.
        Rubycon YK DataSheet (b...

Magic chef oven - thermistor ref voltage issue
        by Use2bavolvo
I am having an issue with my wall oven temperature control is ~180f out of spec. The thermistor is measuring correctly but I noticed the ref voltage appears to be off. With the thermistor wires attached it's reading ~3.4vdc with the thermistor disconnected it's around I9.8vdc. my understanding is the temp is read off the resistance from the thermistor which leads me to believe the issue is with the ref voltage.

Another observation is the temp setting and readout at lower temps is way off meaning the oven thinks room temp is 300f and bake relay doesn't engage unless temp setting...

Sony KDL-40BX450 LCD. Thermistor gets too hot 10 seconds after turning on the TV
        by Quantum IC
        Hello every one,
This TV came to me with the problem that it was totally dead.
The problem was the two MOSFETs and a fuse resistor in the power supply.
The original MOSFETs were KF7N50F and I repalced them with SLF65R700S2.
The original fuse resistor was 0.1 Ohm 1/2W. I didn't find a similar fuse resistor and I replaced it with 0.1 Ohm 5W ceramic resistor.
When I plug the TV the ST-BY LED turns on, when I press the power button on the TV, the ST-BY LED turns off and the TV doesn't turn on until the second time I press the power button is when the TV turns on,...

Thermistor exploded in two when turning on ps4 fat
        by fab13
        Hi there,

I have a fat PS4 with the fuse (5a) of the power supply which blows with each power on and there was a loud snap in the power supply and again the same problem after replacing the fuse.
I did not find a short circuit

The component that broke in two is an SCK 084 thermistor (See photo)
        and measured at 11 ohm

        So far I haven't received a thermistor.

Do you think that if I replace the thermistor and the fuse it should go away, because I have the impression that there is a strong current demand as soon as you press...
