Replacing cig-lighter connector to air matress inflator

HI, I have an air-matress inflator that plugs into the car cig-lighter. Well this end of the connector broke. I dont want to throw the unit away but replace the connector.

i have a few cig-connectors from my old cell phone chargers but not sure they will work as they may be rated differently.

    Any suggestions.

that connector looks like shit, you can get one with a fuse in it and an led for a couple of $ or less.

i cant comment on your actual question - you didnt show the other connectors.
but they are probably good to use.

Check the insulation of wires on the inside of the broken connector, one is probably ribbed and the other is not. On the new connector attache the wires as they were on the broken connector.

The cell phone plugs are likely not rated for a few amperes of current needed for the inflator which probably needs to deal with 4 amps or so, maybe more instantaneously. You could jury rig the plugs but need to make sure the heavy wire comes out of the plug which might require some hacking...

I was tempted to do the same but worried about the current rating that may cause failure down the road (my device was a thermoelectric cooler.)

You can get ones with the wires attached also https://www.amazon.com/Roadpro-Fused.../dp/B0016LG0CY

I used to try to use them things. The motors were so cheap the impeller would break after about 10 uses and I'd have to get another one.

The connectors itself are identical, only the gauge of the wires that are soldered on the pins is different. I bought some spare cig-connectors. Chinese it seems. They come with fuse. You have to solder the wires yourself.
The price of one cig-plug here, in Bulgaria is less than 1lv(less than 0.6$) But you can't really expect high quality, so even if you replace your plug - handle with care. The plastic from which the plug is made is very very fragile.

Useful conversions. I don't "speak" imperial. Please use metric, if you want to address me.
