    Can someone identify this?

I believe this is a variable resistor/potentiometer. The only marking is the 10K on top, and then the marking on the wheel, which I assume is the manufacture logo. I took a logical guess that it was a 10 kilo-ohm potentiometer and ordered this from digikey

    http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...3352W-103LF-ND

It is much smaller, like half the size, of the original.

Real quick to the scenario, trying to fix a tatoo machine. It should have a starting DCV of 0, but it starts at like 4-5V. When I checked this part, out of the circuit board, the high reading was spot on around 10kOhm, but the low reading was around 12-15 ohms. I tested the new one I got from digikey to compare, its low is about .2-.3 ohms. But without knowing exactly what the original part brand/model is, I don't know if that is within spec or not.

    10k carbon preset.
the bit you turn pulls off - they sell that seperatly.

i cant say anything else, i dont know the pin spacing.
fix your profile so we know what country your in - it helps when recomending sources of parts.

"but the low reading was around 12-15 ohms." That is no going to be the cause of the problem 12~15 Ohms is very small percentage of 10K.
Upload good clear pictures of the board top and bottom side and tell us what it is not doing.

        Re: Can someone identify this?

Okay, here are some more detailed pics. When this thing is turned on and the front rheostat is turned all the way ccw, it should be reading 0V but it shoots up to 4v-5v at the start, which is more than what the max should be for the tattoo needle (according the the client). I replaced the rheostat, no change. Since the parts were cheap, I ordered the chip, the transistors and what I thought might be an equivalent to the carbon preset? I swapped the chip (no change), but haven't done anything else.

"it should be reading 0V but it shoots up to 4v-5v at the start" At the wiper of the front reostat or at the output to feed the actuator?
          What is the IC # XX723, xxx556?
it looks like the Big transistor on the heatsink is the one the feed the actuator and driven by the IC on the board.
So you changed the IC but not the transistor?

check if the transistor on that big heatsink at the back is not shorted.

You sure it used to start up at 0V? Sounds to me like the pulse is caused by a capacitor in a signal path, which is momentarily charging up when power is first applied. That's just a guess though.

That is an LM723 linear regulator with external pass transistor...

Agreed, should also check the external pass transistor. Also check R2 - fusible resistor? This should have a fairly low resistance in the fractions of an ohm... Unfortunately I cant tell the colors, looks like orange-white-silver-gold (0.39 ohm 5%) but that would be a guess.

Help to identify Tele-handler joystick potentiometer component.
                    by MendipEng
                    HI all.
I am trying to identify the following component.
It is a potentiometer of some sort.
It has been removed from a Tele-handler joystick.
I have never seen a component like it & dont know what its called to search for it.
It receives a 9 volt DC supply then gives an output from 3-9 volts depending on position.
I have multiple photos but the track inside is broken & needs replacing.
The problem being that the machine is over 20 years old & no longer made, the manufacturer no longer exists and there isnt any replacement units available....

                    Epson EB-U42 projector / Caps with 0.7 ohms ?!
                    by narf
                    hi all,

first of all: i'm a (motivated) newbie, so please forgive me any stupid question i may or may not ask

i'm currently repairing a projector: Epson EB-U42 that doesn't start (no lights, nothing).

                    what i've found so far:
                    - the PSU does its job and supplies 12V to the mainboard via the connector.
                    - shortly thereafter, there is a mosfet (TS420-600B) where i can test 12V on the one side (in the data sheet this side is called Anode), Gate 0V, Kathode shorted to ground
                    - not far away, there's the first cap with a resistance of 0.7 ohms....

DVR HIKVISION DS-7208HWI-E1/A BOARD DS-80104 REV 2.2 help identify burnt components
                    by thesame
Hy guys , i have a DVR board DS-80104 REV 2.2 that was powered wrong, i have some smds on the board that are blown and i can't identify them , maybe if someone has this board somehow and we can identify the smds', i have searched online and i can't find a schematic.
The smds are SOT-23-6 , one of them i think it has the marking ADJF since i found another one on the board with this marking , but the other one it seems that it starts with AG or it looks like. I would really apreciate if someone could help me identify those IC's .

How can I identify varistor which have been blew up?
                    by chth96
I mistakely pluged 100v japanese retro game console to 220v outlet.
So It seems that glass fuse and varistor have been blew up.
I can identify that voltage and ampere value of glass fuse(250V LF 1.6A),but It is impossible to identify varistor type in my sega saturn PSU(YAMAHA 35M07U XR258)
Is there any way to identify varistor type in my sega saturn PSU?
                    Any reply would be appreciated.

                    EDIT:
It seems that I finally found out what type this black varistor is. It is Panasonic ERZV05D221 “ZNR” Transient/Surge Absorbers (Type D) Varistor Voltage...
