thatll work. "ahh old cap lead, oh how you are handy."

In the future scrape off the protective coating on that trace or "track" as you call it. tin it(apply a layer of solder to it) then do what you did and add a little more solder so the whole mess is soldered togther.. it will be a super strong repair when your done. On fatter traces, old desoldering braid works great too.

Well it didn't fix the original problem. It still randomly shuts off. I replaced all the capxon caps including the small 4.7, 10, and 33 caps. They were all bloated.
But the set does seem more stable now, including the captions that would randomly stop working or print incorrectly.

I think the input board is causing issues. It has UCC KY series and Jackcon Capacitors. But I don't see any physical issues but that doesn't mean that there aren't any.

Repair Denon AVR-X2600h power amp SBL and SBR channel
          by re-atari
A few weeks ago I bought a defective Denon AVR-X2600h receiver, wanted to use this one to find and fix a fault in my X2400h. This last part is already successfully done (turned out to be a defective TOP268VG in the X2400h's STBY PSU). So far so good.

As I like a challenge, I now want to try to fix the X2600h. According to the serial nr. the receiver is built in june 2020. The seller wrote in his ad, that he had bought the receiver in a defective state, and wanted to fix it himself, but could not find the time to do so. The receiver would jump to DC protect mode when switched on...

MacBook Pro 2012 A1398 : Battery BMS circuit repair OR can it boot WITHOUT a battery ?
          by Ancient1
          Hi
I received such Laptop as junk. Opening it I saw a lot of whitish water residue , but no corrosion really ( few coils have small brown rust marks, no green copper ).
I cleaned all thoroughly and interestingly , its the Battery BMS board that has the real corrosion spots.. under the protective clear Goo !!

I want to try and power up the laptop

Battery is swollen. But I don't want to buy a new battery right now , of course .

I started work on the BMS by zooming in on green spots . 2 VIAs are filled with rusted copper goo - who knows...

ASUS Rog Strix G17-712LV Laptop Liquid damaged
          by XxMicroSoldering
          Hello Guys

I have a ASUS Rog strix laptop that I bought recently to fix and the previous owner spilled water on it . He brought it into a repair shop for them to check it out and instead of fixing it they damaged the battery connector of the laptop ! Other than that they damaged damaged nothing . But since the liquid damage the laptop only turns on and the keyboard lights up and then immediately turns off. I really want to repair this laptop and I also have experience in repairing phones etc and laptops and a bit of soldering but the diagnosing part is where I need help with and...

Identification of Component T5 on NEXIQ USB-Link 2 (damaged due to crushing)
          by Tomylee
          Hi everyone,
I'm currently repairing a NEXIQ USB-Link 2 that was physically damaged due to crushing. After a thorough inspection, it appears that only one component is visibly damaged: the T5 component, located right next to the Mini-USB port.

It's a 4-pin SMD component, with one pin at each corner, aligned front-to-back along the USB port axis. Unfortunately, it is broken, and there are no visible markings left on the part to identify it.

I'm looking for help with the following:

The exact identification or part number of the T5 component
          ...

Vintage fan repair, copper wire question
          by technicalspecialist
I currently have a customer's vintage fan on the work bench to repair.
It uses an induction motor with 4 poles. One of the poles is open.
I couldn't find the break so i cut off the original wire.
I have measured the other poles and the resistance is about 28 ohms per pole and I measured the diameter of the wire with my digital calipers and it is 0.35mm in diameter.

I need to work out how much 0.35mm diameter enamelled copper wire i need to order for it to be 28 ohms. I have used this calculator and it says i need 160.35 metres.

          The enamelled copper...
