Just a quick update. Still working fine. After a day or two of use it asked a software update over wifi. It took awhile , TV cycled power a few times in the process but its still going strong. Thanks again folks. I finally have a 4k TV!!! Woohoo!

Thank you everybody for teaching me some things! I do have a hot air rework station in storage but i said screw it and bought a used main board. I was very lucky to find one from a same exact model tv. Installed it and no problem! Everything seems to be working without a software update. Maybe I just got lucky. Now time to find a table stand for this beast.... Didn't come with a mount. I didn't want to buy one if the screen was bad too....Leave a comment:

I have 24v to the main board.on the main board F401 and f600 have 24v to and out. F402 and f403 have 12v to and out. F405 and f400 have 24v to and out. F3200 had 24v in and out. At the jk board I have 0v on pin 21 and 24v at pin 23.Leave a comment:

I have no lights on TV...no signs of life. I cant read the numbers on q9001..too small . I have checked every fuse I can find on all boards. I will check 24v supply to mainboard tonight after work. I have already tried holding power button then re connecting power nothing.... Power and volume down and reconnect power nothing.Leave a comment:

From what ive read from sony the Xbr series is also very sensitive to power fluctuations . if you happen to have an uninterruptible power supply connected to your home pc by chance...connect your TV to it and see if the issue goes away.Leave a comment:

Power board. Little thing. Looking at pic as shown....all left legs of q9001 have 12vdc and all right legs have 52mv...if I knew wtf it was maybe I can figure out if that's my issue. I found a new jk board for $30 so I just bought one on a whim. For some reason my gut says I should have more than Just a 24v out of the jk board. Hi there. I have a 65" sony TV given to me. The owner said it stopped working during a bad storm. The former owner replaced the external 24v supply but TV still wont power on.
Heres where I'm at. The external 24v supply and its cable are good. I have 24v getting to the jk board and 24v out to several boards on the set. I think I may be missing a 12 or 5v output from the jk board. Does anyone know the pinout voltages of the jk board?
I have 12v going to q901 on jk board but no output to the cap nearest it. Anyone else been here? -
westinghouse sk-26h520s no 24v and more
Hi guys. I was given a westinghouse 26" lcd today. It has good 5 v at the power supply, the blue power led works as youd expect. I have no 24v(and no backlights) and even with a bright flashlight held against the screen the lcd is not producing a picture.
How on earth do i decide if this is a ps or mainboard issue? -

Samsung LN-R2050P bad caps
Got this little 20" given to me today. When powered on, it would stay on 5-10 seconds then seem to shut off... but on further inspection it was staying on but the backlight was shutting off.
I pulled the cover off...wow. Looks like all 4 inverter caps are shot, and i see several caps vented in the power supply section also. I have no idea how this thing even partially functions.
Im not sure if im going to recap it tonight or not. but i couldnt find this model listed here so i figured i better make a post with some pics.... -

A friend gave me this to tinker with. WHen powered on, works fine for a few minuites, then the backlight starts to blink off and back on,.. first slowly and over time more in succession untill it flashes rapidly, then shuts off. At that point the tablet is totally dead and wont even connect to a pc via the usb port. Let it cool down, same deal works untill its warmed up. It will talk to a usb port when first powered on. I did notice one section with tiny transistors or ldos gets extremely hot, i guess i need to get some pics and post but these components are TINYYYYYYYyyyyyy..

Ok.. what happened is when i got home the monitor was plugged in backlights on, no Picture. Monitor was warm from being on several hours. After a power cycle now the monitor came up fine. Used for a couple hours working fine., Powered on and off several times, still looked good. I unplugged it and let it cool off, now its acting up again. I have got to have a bad solder joint somewhere on the mainboard. Hopefully i will be able to figure out where and fix it with my hakko hot air rework station.

Ha.. got home tonight and my kid had this monitor out and plugged in playing with it.
Much to my suprise, its working now. I dont know if he accientally figured out some sort of reset, or if it only works because its warmed up.. i guess i will make this my pc monitor for awhile and see if it starts acting up again.Leave a comment:

unfortunately no luck on the reseat job.
The longer its on the hashier and slower the screen response gets. ALso will not turn itself off. Yay. Guess i need to make sure my power suppply works and then track down a good mainboard if the ps checks ok?Leave a comment:
