    New FNIRSI LC1020E LCR Meter

Title sez it all... new FNIRSI LC1020E LCR Meter. I wonder if anyone has it already and if it is any good?

Seen a vid about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj8Sgf_KF74

I want to being with there products are very good quality I have one of there meters but not this model the accuracy of the seem to be decent it reads very close to my Fluke meter and most times it reads the same when I get home I will post the model number

I also have two current clamp meters as well

I would have NOT have any issue buying any of there products because I have several different products from them

I hope this helps you make your decision about buying any of there products

I normally am not brand loyalty because I find most times manufacturers are good at one or two things but lack in other products

I bought there battery operated battery tab welder it works very well but should have one extra battery cell in parallel for better performance but not a deal breaker and by me mentioning this some of there devices might fall short of being perfect but at least they are concerned about quality of their products

Not sure if I should buy one or not. I like to have another ESR meter. Not sure if I should buy another Agilent / Keysight one or on of these cheapo jobs.

This would depend on what your main reason for buying another one for if it just for comparison purposes or are you after accuracy or is price a concern then this is another or at these are determining factor for me

Good question. It’s rather maximizing the bang for my buck. Things are rediculously expensive thanks to some government decisions and being taxed to the hills.

As you are aware of I have issues with the tariffs and all of these games that they want to play
And It makes making decisions very difficult to make now because I do not want the extra cost

              Same here. Those tariffs suck.

All I say is this: a tax, plus another tax, and then another tax plus sales tax. It’s ridiculous.
Here in Canada we got told from a certain female politician (ex finance minister) that we should cancel our Disney Plus subscription, so the government can invent more taxes, Oyyy… that’s gotta go into the political section soon, before the lid blows off.

Is it possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue meter?
                    by chth96
I read EBOOK of Testing Electronic Component and found that

"In order to test the small blue resin coated ceramic disk capacitor which has 104 50v specification,it is possible to test this small ceramic capacitor by making use of analogue meter.
Set to times 10Kohm that has 12v output from the probe to check disorder of ceramic capacitor.
It is not uncommon that testing result of digital capacitance meter is okay,But It show shorted reading when you check it with analogue meter."

Is it really possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue...

AE20218 Milliohm Meter Kit, 0.1 Milliohm Resolution, Four Wire Measurements bought one
                    by sam_sam_sam
I have been in need of a mega ohm meter for a while but just could not make up my mind to which one I want to buy and this one has a couple of things going for it can also be used on a computer to display a resistance graph plus it is a kit that you put together supposedly the only parts installed are the surface mount components

I will probably make a rechargeable battery pack for so it can be used as a portable device and anywhere

I kind a wish that it had a higher resistance value higher than 240 ohms at 10 milliamperes on high range but it is what it it

lowest current galvanometer/analog meter (passively powered!)
                    by eccerr0r
Most analog meters are actually current driven - a current is needed to deflect the pointer full scale. They can be lots of different values. There are ones that can take several amperes to swing the pointer as they have internal shunts.

On the other hand there are many that are rated in microamps for the intent that they draw as little power as possible from the devices under test. Some are 1mA, 500µA, 200µA, 100µA, and the ubiquitous 50µA frequently used in analog VOMs. There are even 20, 25, 30 µA and even down to 10µA. Been collecting a bunch of different ratings and...

Changing the scale of an analog meter
                    by jorpec
                    Hi

I want to change the scale of an analog meter, to monitor the charge of an li-ion single cell, so the needle at the end would point 4.2 volts and the 0 on the meter would point 2.5 volts or so, i tried to add diodes or a zener in series with the meter but the changes of the ambient temperature also changes the voltage value on the meter
I wonder how i can accomplish this so the meter would be precise at any temperature ?

How an incandescent light and a ESR meter ** friend**have a machine blowing fuses
                    by sam_sam_sam
About a month ago we had a transformer jumper wire that burned in two different places between two transformers caused over $200 thousand dollars worth of damage to VFD drives at least 10 of them and a memory card and quite a few power supply as well

Now we have most of the equipment that got damaged back up and running except a feeder that has issues and we are waiting for some parts for

Now we also have another piece of equipment that was blowing fuses on the 110 volt controller switch circuit with the “E” stops and one switching power (24 volt) supply and a transformer...
