      LCR = Inductance, Capacitance, Resistance

Aligent Technologies is still alive and well and headquartered in Santa Clara, CA.

HP`s test instrument section was separated and continues to operate as Agilent.
I dont there are any circuit diagrams floating around.
Good luck repairing it, this Agilent equipment is kind of expensive.

Does not look like Agilent has any posted in the most logical place:

          http://www.home.agilent.com/agilent/...ect=SR.PM-Find

Maybe call their technical support and see if they will send you one, or at least tell you what they would charge to fix it?

Agilent does have some service manuals up for devices they no longer sell, for LCR meters look here:

Basically what happened was that the computer/printer division outgrew the rest of the company, absconded with the HP name, and then spun off the original company as Agilent.

I have a contact with their group here in Texas, and I'll ask around if they can spring a schematic.

Is it possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue meter?
                by chth96
I read EBOOK of Testing Electronic Component and found that

"In order to test the small blue resin coated ceramic disk capacitor which has 104 50v specification,it is possible to test this small ceramic capacitor by making use of analogue meter.
Set to times 10Kohm that has 12v output from the probe to check disorder of ceramic capacitor.
It is not uncommon that testing result of digital capacitance meter is okay,But It show shorted reading when you check it with analogue meter."

Is it really possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue...

How can I be sure that my EC chip is dead?
                by double_DD
                Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...

Modification of a Fluke multi meter that uses three AA batteries to use a 14500 lithium ion battery
                by sam_sam_sam
I have had with regular AA batteries that leak this meter is expensive new I already replaced the battery battery clips once and the same thing happened again and I am tried of so it is getting modified to accommodate lithium ion batteries that are the same size excluding the positive terminal and removing the battery clips I will have enough room for the BMS protection board

I going to put 3 lithium ion battery in parallel with the BMS protection board and a way to charge the battery externally and heat shrink the battery pack and use a JST connector so I easily remove the battery...

Changing the scale of an analog meter
                by jorpec
                Hi

I want to change the scale of an analog meter, to monitor the charge of an li-ion single cell, so the needle at the end would point 4.2 volts and the 0 on the meter would point 2.5 volts or so, i tried to add diodes or a zener in series with the meter but the changes of the ambient temperature also changes the voltage value on the meter
I wonder how i can accomplish this so the meter would be precise at any temperature ?

                hello guys,

                i need help to repair a edm-033 ps2
history : as always hdmi port and usb ports destroyed after unplugged
after change them, ps5 dead too : 1 beep, no blue light. after inspection 1.8v power was shorted, and because of dead panasonic chip. after remove it : no short anymore
                so i changed it
now i have got 5v stby,, 3.3v stby, 3.3v power, 1.8v power and no short on them
but the ps5 is dead again : 1 beep, near 10 seconds with power lines and then off, no blue light ...

i don't see any projection of liquid metal on pcb.
