    JVC Black screen

JVC LT32W6HD When turned on I get the blue light on front and here the click but the screen remains black with no flash of the backlights or anything and after a few seconds relay clicks again and the blue light flashes constantly. I do get 24volts at the inverter board between the first and second click and even replaced the inverter board with same results. None of the boards have any markings to show what the wires are as I would like to try and force backlights on. Also the inverter board is the kind of slip in board so I can't really put a bulb on each to check. Anyway I was wondering if anyone would have some advise?

Check pin 12 (ENABLE, same as BL-ON) of the inverter connector to see if it has >2.5VDC.

budm, if I hook up and external power source at 2.5 volts to that pin should the lights come on then? Or would I fry something?

It should but you will have to remove the wire first. Why don't you just check and see if the command signal is present or not first.

                Re: JVC Black screen

Well while looking around I found the following "reset" procedure and it actually worked for me so maybe it could help someone else.

Tv jvc lcd hd don't turn on blue liht blinking

Restore the TV's normal function by changing the operating mode. Please follow the procedure below.
                PROCEDURE

                • 6. The TV's lower left Blue Power LED will come ON.
                • 7. Wait 30 seconds. Confirm that the blue LED on the Lower Left of the TV (not the iPod dock for iPod models) has remained ON during this time.
                a. The TV may have turned ON. If so,continue at step 12 b. If the Blue LED on the TV's Lower Left corner remained ON, continue to step 8.

                  Re: JVC Black screen

Thanks for the info. Was the TV hit by surges or brown out that caused the main board to get corrupted?

I got a 52 inch JVC today with same problem. I took off the back and saw one of the backlight inverter boards was un-pluged. I put it back on and did the reset and it works great again.
