    Forensic role for hand bacteria

Researchers in the US discovered that the "communities" of bacteria living on a person's skin are different for each individual.

The team took swabs from keyboards and were able to match the bacteria they found to the computer owners.

It's the keyboard that needs it more than the hands...

This is cool. It does stand to reason that we would each have our own versions of bacteria. I bet you see them use this little tidbit to solve a case on CSI in the next few months. Have you every noticed that the dark haired girl on one of those CSI or is it Bones never getsa scare??? I mean she's been shot. Just the other week I think she got a busted arm and a nasty cut on her forhead. But the next show it was like it never happened. She was perfect again.

There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

SMEG induction cooker error EA on both left hand side cooktops
              by Gjackson
              Hi all,

I have a SMEG cooktop with a EGO 72.08041.002 power board. The two left hand side cooktops started to slowly fail, sometimes stopping with an EA error (Power board failure according to the manual) after a couple minutes boiling some water and eventually they completely failed and now get an EA error on both of them at all times. Visual inspection of the board went over ok, I checked the IGBT's and rectifiers and they seem fine, what should I look at next as this is the first time I'm fixing an induction cooker, I'm suspecting capacitors in this case, Which ones should I look...

Accidental slip of the hand caused a spark on Capacitor. Is my PANEL killed in action?
              by Axis937
Hi folks, newbie here. My intention on a working monitor was to test for voltages on the various pins. Somewhere near the ribbon to the monitor, there we 2 caps. One was reading around 5V and the other was maybe about 12 or 14V . Cant really recall. Then it happened. The multimeter kissed the 5v cap and the other cap. Spark appeared. NOW... the part where the spark happened ( Caps near the Last ribbon cable ) is now totally white. 1/6 part of the screen is white. From my little understanding , i came to learn that there are transistors inside the TFT panel. Could that be a issue then? I have removed...

Samsung UN50TU8000 - Dead Panel Forensic Questions
              by KYBOSH
I came across a 50inch TU8000 that wouldnt start up properly (blinking stand-by light, backlights would cycle on and off).

When i opened it up and removed the power to the mainboard the backlights powered up and everything looked uniform.
When reconnected the mainboard but disconnected the flex cable to the panel i heard the TV startup with the intro sound.

Later I checked for shorts on the panel PCB boards but could not find anything.
When I took a look with the FLIR i noticed the 2 resistors...

              Encountering second-hand power
              by Cyrs
be quiet! E6 750W power supply causes the computer to not boot and displays fault codes 19 and 00
When I turned on the power, I found a large triode on the back.(A928),There are obvious signs of burning。
After detecting that A928 is short-circuited and replaced, the computer starts up normally....

BENQ GC2870 Floodlight effect from left hand edge of screen
              by Briesmith
I have attached an image of the screen showing the problem which is that I see a sort of floodlight effect shining on the screen from the upper top left edge. I think the image shows the defect better than I could describe it but I would be happy to add any further detail if that would help anyone trying to help me.

If you have seen this problem before or just know what it is from experience/knowledge etc I would be very grateful if you could pass on whatever it is I can do to fix it.

              Many thanks

              Brian...
