Things That Have Me Pissed Off Today
The other day my Intel Mouse took a dump on me. It should have been a simple fix but because I'm in such a fog from all of these drugs that am taking I couldn't get anywhere with it so I put it in the trash bin. All it needed was its optical eye cleaned up. Well so now I have the HP mouse back on the system again. Because I didn't do and uninstall on the Intel Mouse the system acts like its still installed along with the HP Mouse. It should be clear to you that I don't know just what the hell I'm doing here about now. I got a Safe Mode restart then I could see both mice on the system. I think...

Well Larry I have to be OK with it. Jesus/God do know me by name and would not be calling me back home for no good
reason. I feel good today.

Re: Your Best Dumpster Finds
My son found one of those old giant rear projection TV's in the alley. One or more of the colored bulbs were bad. He had some bulbs from another one that he found. It works now but to my eyes it not so great. If the sun shines on it you can't see the picture. Maybe it has some sort of back lighting that also isn't working. Free is a good price but I'd still catch a sale and buy a real flat screen TV.

All the computers that I'm dealing with now have the SSE/SSE2 instruction sets. I gave way all the old stuff.

Heating Pad Problem
My heating pad has a four position switch. The settings are as follows: Off, Low, Medium and High. Now off = off, Low = High, Medium = Low, and High = off. The control unit is screwed together so I can take it apart, All of my tools are over at my Linthicum house so I can't take the unit apart just yet. The A/C power cord from the control unit to the wall has two wires in it. The cord for the pad comes from the control unit to the pad. It has three wires in it. What do guys think may have died in the control unit?...

Re: The ghetto mod thread
20 years ago I had the woofers from my Altec Lansing L-100 speaker rebuilt by a company in CA. They were the only people who had the OEM ceramic cone kits from Altec to do the job with. At first they did lack low end but they got better with time. I'd say that they did end up being as good as new. The sweet part of this speaker system were the silky smooth mid-range drivers. Like a fool I traded them off for some Bose things. Today I'm using the Polk Monitor 10B units. These are not so great ether.Last edited by Junk Parts; 12-10-2014, 09:59 AM.

Re: Hp No Power Up Issue
I can't do anything right now. The PC is 85 miles away from me and I'm sick with the flu anyway. I need to be feeling better before I go down there and tackle her POS.

Hp No Power Up Issue
I am having and issue with two different Hp PC's. One is a core I5. The other has the AMD Vision four core cpu. When the power button is pushed these units will not power up. I have gotten these things to start working again by doing the following things. First unplug the A/C core. Then I disconnected both plugs from the PSU to the main board. I then held the power button down for a few seconds to discharge the MB caps. Then I pluged everything back in and the PC's booted as normal. Could this be caused by a low cmos battery? Both of the units are three years old or so.

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1
Well since I don't do repairs anymore I'm going to toss a bunch of stuff today. Its just odds and ends. Nothing good. I have already given away anything good that I had. I put this stuff out by the light pole and the local junk man always picks it up. He has gotten everything from complete working desk tops to working laptops from me.

Re: fun day!
I had and argument with my brother that is sort of like this apple worm boy thing. I asked him if he would be interested in fixing the back lights in my HP 2509m monitor. His answer was no because all of hp's products are junk! He said I should get and apple "what the fuck" computer and trash my hp PC. I wonder, do apple PC's get fruit fly infestations?Last edited by Junk Parts; 11-12-2014, 04:50 AM.

Failing HP 2509m Monitor
OK its and HP 2509m monitor. It has a flicker on the left side of the screen. Most of what I found online states that its a failing black light tube. The unit has four of them. It is also a common problem with these monitors. Because of my seizure problems I can't have lights blinking in my eyes like this. If I do repair this unit I will be farming the job out. I also might just get another monitor. What would be a good cheap 25 inch monitor from anyone but Hp?

Re: Escort Head Unit Pre-Outs
That is a lot of head unit for just $38.46! They used to sell and AM/FM tape deck unit at Luskins for $19.95. They also sold a pair of 6x9 three way speakers for $19.95. More or less $40 dollar bought you a working stereo. They didn't sound bad ether.Last edited by Junk Parts; 11-01-2014, 03:35 PM.

Re: Escort Head Unit Pre-Outs
I think that I'll buy a new normal din head unit with four speakers and be done with it. From crutchfield the mounting kit comes for free if you buy all the other stuff.
