Accidental slip of the hand caused a spark on Capacitor. Is my PANEL killed in action?
Hi folks, newbie here. My intention on a working monitor was to test for voltages on the various pins. Somewhere near the ribbon to the monitor, there we 2 caps. One was reading around 5V and the other was maybe about 12 or 14V . Cant really recall. Then it happened. The multimeter kissed the 5v cap and the other cap. Spark appeared. NOW... the part where the spark happened ( Caps near the Last ribbon cable ) is now totally white. 1/6 part of the screen is white. From my little understanding , i came to learn that there are transistors inside the TFT panel. Could that be a issue then? I have removed...

Are u getting 5V at VDD?
Pin 18 - VDD -- Output of the internal LDO; provides the bias power for the internal analog and digital circuit. Connect a 4.7µF (10V) MLCC capacitor to GND. The capacitor must have an effective capacitance higher than 0.4µF at 5V and x1.6 effective capacitance at the Boot pin at 5V. If VDD is pulled below 2.5V, the ISL9241 resets all the SMBus register values to the default.
here is the link to the datasheet

This is a VAUS5 LA9001P Rev 1 board. I managed to find v 0.3 only. But it seems to be very identical.
The drain /source/ gate readings are in 200kohms and above going into Megaohms. I dont think there is any short over there. Correct me if i am wrong as i am a super duper newbie.
What does silk screening mean?
Regn to ground is 6V

BQ 727 Chip 2.4V at Phase
HI folks 1 question on ablout BQ 727 IC. I believe that it is also meant to charge the battery based on the proximity to the battery pins. I have a strong feeling that the battery is dead but i will look at it later. My question is VCC on BQ is receiving the ADP voltage of 19V. However PHASE and HiDRV on BQ is only pushing out about 2.4V with or without battery attached. That 2.4 V is heading to the gate of the charging mosfet. Source is also pushing out the same 2.4V. Finally the battery voltage pin is receiving 2.2V. Do you see this as a issue or no issue. Battery is likely faulty as well as...
