Re: Post your system.......
Built up a new system for my mom so I can take my XPS L502x back. Plenty enough for her, being as all she does is secretary-type work (so acrobat, MS office, email, etc) and facebook games. Specs:
XPS 720 Chassis
Core 2 Quad Q6600
5 GB DDR2 Mix-N-Match
160 GB HDD
Quadro NVS 295
Windows 10 Pro.
As for the XPS L502x, it's a piece of shit but a fast piece of shit. Prone to overheating and throttling, pretty poor build quality and horrible screen res relative to the rest of the system. Specs on that are:
2.2 GHz Core i7 2670QM
8 GB DDR3
750 GB HDD
Intel HD3000 + GeForce GT540M 2 gig
1366x768 LCD (why the fuck would you choose that?)

Got myself an Asus G751JY (T7370H) laptop.
Specs:
17.3" Full HD display with G-Sync
i7 4750HQ, 2.0 Ghz - 3.3 GHz (HM87 chipset)
10 GB RAM (8GB OEM + 2GB stick I had lying around).

Re: Post your system.......
What do you do with so many optical drives?
I like the front grille on the Delux PSU - at least it will let enough air to cool the components.
Also, is it the picture or does that board seem extremely dusty. Either way, I suggest putting a fan on or near the NF3 chipset heatsink - that is, if you want the board to last. NF3 is not as bad as NF4 and newer nForce chipsets, but they can still fail from bumpgate issue.Comment

by canadaboy25Hey guys,
I have an Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 motherboard with AMD RAIDXpert. I set up a 1000GB RAID1 array on it. This was about 8 years ago. Every once in a while, a power outage or something would knock one drive offline and degrade the array. After a reboot the drive would be back online and it would rebuild just fine.
Recently, a drive dropped offline and the array became degraded. I figured it was no big deal and rebooted then set it to rebuild overnight. The next morning I took a look and both drives had dropped offline at 70% rebuild. Uh oh.
I rebooted...-

by bmxlovahHi,
My Dell Precision T7910 died after enabling onboard SAS controller and applying RAID settings. There were no hardware changes between working and not working state, only setup (via bios -> controller settings). After applying settings and reboot PC turns on, flash leds (normally) but there's no further action, it just stays on with no graphics and no keyboard led's on. There's no Dell logo, nothing. I've tried resetting bios by jumper, replacing cpu's, replacing ram, removed/replaced cmos battery, disconnecting all drives etc. I've also dumped .bins from mobo chips SLI1 (16...-

by tbalint3Hello All,
I am trying to repair an old Abit ST6-R motherboard.
The symptoms are the following:
I got it in a non-working state. I was told that it sometimes turned on, but many times just the CPU fan was spinning and no other signs of life, the board didn't POST, and now it doesn't POST at all.
It was full of bulged electrolytic capacitors, so I replaced all of them with new Low-ESR ones, but it didn't solve the problem.
If I install a CPU in the S370 socket, only the fans are spinning and no POST. There are no beep codes even if the RAM DIMMs...3 Photos -
by canadaboy25Hey guys I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to get Windows 10 to boot up and install drivers after changing the bios settings for the sata port from raid to ahci.
My motherboard is an Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 and when I built the PC I set all of the sata ports to raid mode. There is one setting for ports 1-4 and one setting for port 5 and the esata port. I currently have 4 drives set up in two raid 1 arrays on ports 1-4. My ssd containing Windows 10 is plugged into port 5. I also have an external esata enclosure with a 2tb drive that I use as a Windows backup plugged into...-
