I have the older version of that case (the one that both side panels and top panel is one, and slides off frontwards), it is indestructible.

Is it that socket 478 board?

I might have a cpu for that if it takes celerons, too.

However after a quick google search I found that BQT is the acronym for the Be Quiet brand. According to a poster on another forum, BQT power supplies are Seasonic or CWT units. The innards look pretty good for a few of the power supplies that I have seen on the Internet.

Maybe the BQT that you have is a fake. Or possibly faulty.
I just do not see how a 500W Seasonic or CWT power supply can not handle an i7 rig yet a cheapy but reasonable 300W power supply can.
Nah it's the dfi's mobo which causes problems, for example they won't work with enermax psus either, some weird problem with -5V lines...

According to jathardwares psu listing 500W and up of Straightpower series are done by fortron but who knows. Since this psu still works with other HW i'd say to problem is with DFI...

FSP has been getting worse and worse now.

Their epsilon platform is slipping, most units based on them tested have out of spec rails and such.

Shame, fsp used to be good cheap and reliable psu's.

New antecs are FSP (basiq,) seasonic or delta (Signature series, some earthwatts, rumored that the basiq 550 is delta). New being since about 2006-7.

I have a pair of 3.06 604 xeons on a MSI/IBM board, they easily chow down 100W each

                                        Odd.

I find it interesting that some people call their machinery (such as cars, planes, trains, boats, weapons, tools, computers) "She" or "Her" and also sometimes give them names.

I invariably call a machine "It". Not to disrespect advanced technology in any way because without our tools people are just clumsy monkeys that fall out of trees a lot.

My computer is referred to as "(a, my, the) Mac Pro".
My car is well, "My Car" or "A Tercel" or "That red car over there"
My Sewing Machine, Oscilloscope, Lawnmower and other great wonderful tools all have equally unimaginative names.
I made a tool designed to test ATX Power Supplies under load.... never once have I referred to it as a person.

Now Beanie Babies on the other hand.... that's different!
Anything with a face around here gets a name.

Maybe that's it? I give names only to faces?

the only machine to get a humanistic name was the holly, because that at beast was in a holly branded case.

i once had one named "the alladin" (ga-5ax board with ali alladin V chipset).

once in awhile the computer will get a temporary name: turd, F**Ker, PIG, Piece of s**T, s**tbox, you get my drift... sometimes i get out of hand. bad computer!

                                            Hey guys,

I have an Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 motherboard with AMD RAIDXpert. I set up a 1000GB RAID1 array on it. This was about 8 years ago. Every once in a while, a power outage or something would knock one drive offline and degrade the array. After a reboot the drive would be back online and it would rebuild just fine.

Recently, a drive dropped offline and the array became degraded. I figured it was no big deal and rebooted then set it to rebuild overnight. The next morning I took a look and both drives had dropped offline at 70% rebuild. Uh oh.

                                            I rebooted...

                                            Hi,

My Dell Precision T7910 died after enabling onboard SAS controller and applying RAID settings. There were no hardware changes between working and not working state, only setup (via bios -> controller settings). After applying settings and reboot PC turns on, flash leds (normally) but there's no further action, it just stays on with no graphics and no keyboard led's on. There's no Dell logo, nothing. I've tried resetting bios by jumper, replacing cpu's, replacing ram, removed/replaced cmos battery, disconnecting all drives etc. I've also dumped .bins from mobo chips SLI1 (16...

                                            Hello All,

I am trying to repair an old Abit ST6-R motherboard.

                                            The symptoms are the following:
I got it in a non-working state. I was told that it sometimes turned on, but many times just the CPU fan was spinning and no other signs of life, the board didn't POST, and now it doesn't POST at all.

It was full of bulged electrolytic capacitors, so I replaced all of them with new Low-ESR ones, but it didn't solve the problem.
If I install a CPU in the S370 socket, only the fans are spinning and no POST. There are no beep codes even if the RAM DIMMs...

Hey guys I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to get Windows 10 to boot up and install drivers after changing the bios settings for the sata port from raid to ahci.

My motherboard is an Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 and when I built the PC I set all of the sata ports to raid mode. There is one setting for ports 1-4 and one setting for port 5 and the esata port. I currently have 4 drives set up in two raid 1 arrays on ports 1-4. My ssd containing Windows 10 is plugged into port 5. I also have an external esata enclosure with a 2tb drive that I use as a Windows backup plugged into...
