Well this is a nice board and i recapped it while ago and well with bad consiquences
As you might know Asus prints + side of cap to board with white ink, not the - as normally, well i noticed that after one of caps blew up.
So is there any possiblity get this board workinga gain?
I used 16V 2200uF sanyo Low ESR caps in antec psus, they're available in 10mm diameter
Got couple working CWT antecs here: 380W Truepower, 3x 450W Antec Smartpowers.
Nah it's the dfi's mobo which causes problems, for example they won't work with enermax psus either, some weird problem with -5V lines...
According to jathardwares psu listing 500W and up of Straightpower series are done by fortron but who knows. Since this psu still works with other HW i'd say to problem is with DFI......
Well let's see, on my far left side on the desk is the i7 rig,
W3520 @ 3.5GHz, boxed cooling
Dfi LP DK X58, like i'd remember the whole name
6GB of CSX CES 1600Mhz ddr3
7600GT
300W aopen (fortron) psu, 500W BQT don't work with this board >
40GB Ide HDD with 64x vista
no case, this computer is in test bench
This is basicly just crunching WCG :P
Right next to me at left is most recent resurrection:
2x 800Mhz P3 @ 882Mhz, boxed coolers
Msi 694D Pro with new...
Well i got this board earlier this year for free and now i decided to recap it.
Well every cap with greater capacitance than 470uF got replaced with 1500uF 6.3V Panasonic low ESR caps, works greatly now
I think they should do fine even they might be have even twice lower specs that earliers had. Usually on mobos very low ESR is more needed that high capacitance, but that's what i've heard.
Currently installing WinXP and i can post pics later.
