well the usual - make sure the RAM, CPU, cards, etc are all seated properly, try resetting the bios, remove the bios battery for a while (replace it if it's dead), check for bad caps that could be causing bad voltages to appear.

oh and that's my favorite setup

does it have an 8 pin 12v atx connector? I had a board that wouldn't boot if you plugged a 4 pin cable into the 8 pin socket.

It could be that the board is just bad - did you buy it new or used? Did they say if it was working or not? Could be something is fried....other people should have more ideas and things for you to try. Good luck!

whoa.. do you try to run that thing ON A BLANKET?

                  ps: or a shirt?
pic #5 could show scratches, but it's hard to tell by the picture.

pps: do you have a port80 card? if no, the mobo speaker might be helpful too.

It looks like a scratch. Check the ends of those traces with a multimeter and see if they still connect. We had a Compaq laptop that did that. Showed the logo and then froze, no input, beeps or codes. Couldn't get that one repaired, the RTC got really hot.

Go to "harbor freight" or the canadian equivalent and buy a $10 multimeter. You can't really troubleshoot electronics without one.
