Can This Be Done and if so How ?

I have a sat receiver that will record to usb thumb drive and a tv that will play the recorded file without issue.

Is there an off-the-shelf in-line device that will satisfy usb protocols and buffer the output and feed it to the input so as to play the output in real or near-real time ?

      That was concise.

yes, i wanted to be clear and specific.

both devices are looking for a filesystem before they concern themselves with the file itself.
also both devices are acting as "master" initiating the action.

I thought for that reason there could be no instantaneous transfer of data but I'm sure a savvy programmer could emulate a filesystem on either end and use a buffer instead of a real file. That's why I asked if there was an off-the-shelf solution instead of using pc's.

I figured it was a rare enough idea that I would ask about it

Ive never even got these to work on Windows, let alone some embedded *Nix and RTOS systems...

i think those used special software drivers to emulate serial-over-usb or ethernet-over-usb.

^ Exactly. Thats all we got, so if OP wants to build drivers for it all... Well, have fun.

Sonos Play 1 pulsing power supply
                  by Goldwing1973
I'm rather new to repairing electronics, i do know the basics of most components but never actually repaired a PCB, but i want to change that.
So, i bought a faulty Sonos Play 1 speaker with the intention of finding the fault, and replace the damaged part.
Well, i did find the fault, i replaced parts that i thought caused the problem, but no-go.

The problem is a pulsing power supply, when i connect the mains to the board and hook up my thermal cam i see R306,307 and 308 getting warm, but i assume that's normal.
But, whats is not normal is the pulsing of resistor...

Sonos Play 1 Gen. 2 with no power
                  by dbuergi
                  Hi all,

i got a Sonos Play 1 Gen. 2 with no light and no power. Until now i only worked on Gen. 1 and know which components "like" to blow up but at this board everything looks fine. Until now i also didn't find any short.
The only problem i found was chip 6D9 heating up to 110c when power supply is connected. Since this is a PMIC i will replace it.
Do you have any other ideas what to check or can these chips get faulty without any other component quitting the job?

Anyway to recover Hi-8 tapes that donot play?

Anyway to recover Hi-8 video tapes that do not play? It is not the problem of the this Hi-8 player.

Maybe someone has a trick, or recommends a player that can play these tapes.

The player I have is a Sony Camcorder TR-101, and it will not play them anymore. I just want to play them one more time to convert them to digital format.

                  Thanks,

                  Martin

Tascam CC-222MKIV Need PLAY / RECORD button assy on CD side.
                  by mecha1166
Hi. A customer brought in a Tascam CC-222MKIV. Play/Record buttons on CD are broken. I am looking for a mechanical parts breakdown so I can get the part number for this key assy. I found the schematic online, and I can tell you the schematic locations for those switches themselves. There is a plastic assembly with buttons that each have shafts to poke the surface switches on the circuit board right behind the faceplate. That is what I need. Thanks!
