Dimension E510 isn't that bad...Put 4GB RAM in there with any video card and use it as a HTPC.

Tons of old equipment is still usable. A lot of us here even have pre-P4 equipment in use.

Netburst is inefficient, but still plenty usable, especially the Xeon ones.

Sure, a Kia is somewhat reliable and efficient, but I think they're for people who don't care about cars/trucks and don't enjoy driving. For us, it's more of a big deal. Me myself, I want to drive something that I love. Trucks>Cars.
Honestly, I think I have the perfect of both worlds. 96 F150 300 i6, 5 speed, 8 foot bed. It's a full sized truck with a long bed, so I get paid to do dump runs and move people out of their houses. It gets good fuel mileage for a truck. Pure downtown Seattle (About the worst case scenario) I got an average of 15mpg. I just took a 130 mile road trip, and while driving a little bit slower than usual, I got 22.3 mpg with the A/C running the whole time. As for reliability, it's a straight 6. Who needs a car?

TC, love your Dodge dually. Those things are absolute beasts.

The van is heavier, yours probably had a carb, auto tranny, higher gear ratio, and other issues going on.

Mixed driving. On the freeways I usually aim for 70-73mph (for fuel economy mainly) but I will speed up if I need to (passing, etc.).

Screw that shit. I'll stick to win 7 and linux. I'd rather not use windows phone: desktop edition.

Wow! You're fast. 110KM/H (68mph) is as high as speed limits get on the highways here in this part of the world, and 80km/h (50mph) is where the economy usually peaks (depending on the vehicle).

Not if you exclude the Audi and BMW drivers. They are normally the idiots speeding down the overtaking lane.

found that out the hard way once trying to race one!!

the u.k. police have a lot of unmarked BMW 7series, Audi and some Volvo estates.

                                    Re: more win10 stuff

Whew! It's been a while since I've been here, and came over to see what people thought of win 10, and knew people would have problems with it ( i mean, we are talking about microshaft here,) but didn't expect this level of vehement hatred I actually quite like windows 10, as its much faster and takes better advantage of my computer (overclocked Pentium g3258, MSI z97m-g43, 16 GB RAM) the issue I had with win 7 was that a certain set of updates from micropeni-soft would destroy my boot partition and render win7 unbootable, combined with my performance issues with win7 made me want 10 badly. As unfortunately , I use cad cam packages that only work in windows. ( I would swith to Linux in a heartbeat if I could)

I actually had to get a bios update to keep win7 from killing itself every time it tried to install updates...
Win 10 in comparison I have no issues with, it screams on my machine, you can turn off the dumb tile thingies, and runs all my cad programs without error. I also have no boot issues anymore.

I understand peoples issues with security, its a hot button topic indeed, but seriously, what are you people trying to hide? There's nothing I do on my main machine that I wouldn't want someone seeing. If I'm ever uo to nefarious things like torrenting shit, I'll use my dedicated Linux machine and transfer the files.
Keep in mind as well, I'm totally on everyone's side here, I hate microsoft and would be Linux only all day if I could. But I can't. I don't want to spend the time dicking around with Linux to get things to work, I've tried wine/etc but it just doesn't compare in the ease of using a shitty windows install, unfortunately.

I don't hate Windows, but there are many things I don't like about it, security topping the list. For many people Windows is the best choice. Not me. I only use it when I have to. Linux is not any more difficult to set up and maintain than Windows, you just have to go about it differently and learn some new things. Support for Linux now far surpasses what you can get for Windows, IMO.
