    Strange Dell Pinouts

I have a Dell Optiplex Gx 150 PIII PC. Its service tag # is 9MSMQ01. Can anybody tell me if this Dell uses a strange pinout on the mobo plug? Right now I have a plain aftermarket PSU in it and it runs fine. I'm going to buy a good PSU for it soon and I guess I need to know if I have a strange pinout.

There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

    Re: Strange Dell Pinouts

Found this page with the GX150 listed:

    http://www.power-on.com/atx250dl.html

Also found this, listed as having adapters to change the pinout:

    http://www.power-on.com/dell250x.html

So looks like the GX150 is ATX, but I would read up just to be sure. Too bad Dell had to do that with some models.

Anyone know if the Poweredge 1300 and 300 use a special power supply? They appear to be 24 pin.

        *sigh*
Why does dell refuse to conform to industry standards?

because they want to keep it "in house" I suppose

A lot at one point or another do this....its a danger for those that assume that big names will follow conventional specs as laid down...think they have woken up a bit here but Apple is another to watch out for ...it may look like an ATX but its not wired to the standard

So anything from the big names in the past (and possibly present in apples case) I would check to be sure.

Dont relay on wire colour either as being a true guide to voltage etc

Yeah Gal the pinout RU is a good site at lest someones tried to put them all together on one site for reference.

From what I understand, all of the newer Dell desktops are ATX standard.
That Russian site does have Dell pinouts. jonnyGURU offered that link last year.
