      Re: Asus Motherboard ?

We tried using ASUS motherboards for our new PCs at work, and they were disasters.

First, we had a few P5N73AM boards. Yes, they did have nVidia chipsets, BUT, we also used some gigabyte boards with nVidia chipsets. The gigabyte boards are all still in service to this day with no complaints. Several of the ASUS boards have problems - either totally dead, or dead onboard peripherals.

There were a lot of G31 motherboards we used as well. Half of those had problems right out of the box, where the PC would randomly lock up, often during the windows boot.

Thene, there's boards from PCs we didn't build. I don't run into ASUS very often, but when I do, they are often faulty. Gigabyte are far more popular, and probably half of the PCs I service have Gigabyte, but I see fewer of them fail.

I don't even bother returning ASUS boards nowadays. Even if they do replace a board, the replacment won't be a Gigabyte.

With experiences like this, how am I supposed to recommend ASUS?

No, that's actually happened before. Mad_Professor had a faulty ASUS board. He tried returning it 3 times and each time, they sent him the same board. On the 3rd attempt, they just replaced the serial number sticker. It was still the same board and still had the same problem.

You'll actually see A LOT of complaints about Asus doing that on Newegg and places with similar reviews if you really look.
          .
If they don't have a replacement in stock they just send you the old board back because they know [or think] the vast majority of their customers are too stupid to notice and/or will give up in frustration.
          And they're right.
They save a lot of money ripping people off in the warranty phase because most people don't even think to check for that.
          .
It's bad enough they cheap-out the builds but when they are blatantly dishonest too that is over the top.
          .
          It's a double whammy.
          Most Asus boards are crap.
Asus as a company is crap.

Once in a while a Fuhjyyu lasts 10 years too.
That doesn't mean the brand isn't crap.

And -that's- where Asus market share comes from.

It's extremely clear by the threads you've started here that you don't don't know squat about computer equipment.

You're nothing but a poser and you aren't fooling anyone here.

                    Let us review:

You have no idea what a good PSU is:

YOU HAVE BOUGHT ASUS BOARDS - THAT DON'T WORK.
                    - And you don't have the slightest idea how to trouble shoot.

The writer of some forum post you read on the rare case where Asus actually came through on a warranty isn't 'your personal friend'.

Reading about a board does not constitute "working on it".

It's VERY doubtful you've had hands on experience with more than 4 or 5 boards in your life.
                    - VERY clear by the questions you've asked here.

                                  Re: Asus Motherboard ?

Well this was an excellent thread to randomly read!!!!!

I was quite shocked to see such negative feedback on Asus, I must say!

I have never really came across an issue with Asus boards, even in long term timeline. Now that you have pointed out, what seems to be an issue with Asus, I might have to look into it a little more. Now, I know they don't have very good customer service, when I have had customers pay me to fix their Asus computer while it was under factory warranty still. Due to the point, they could not take dealing with them or received their computer back from them and it still was not fixed. This has happened on several occasions, with different customers so I know it's not just a bad experience out of the blue. Also, it's the only computer manufacture that I know of that you can't buy a computer directly from their website. You have to track down a distributor. For the sake of convenience I think that's BS. But on the other hand I think it's nice that they don't want to cut out their distributors by offering prices cheaper directly to the consumers and give the distributors the opportunity to make money on their product. Maybe they just want them to sell in-store warranties so they don't have to deal with it - lol!

Also ColorMeBad, please don't take this the wrong way but that's kind of rude. People here take time out of their day to try to help people out by answering questions and offering free advice. For you to create a thread just to say I was playing with you to see what you know, is a waste of some good people's time. I value the thoughts and opinions of everyone on this forum, hence the reason why I post questions and my thoughts here, rather than some other forum. I really don't understand what the point of you posting this was when you clearly think you know what the answer is to your question. Stuff like this is better off on Facebook, you could have just purchased the board, took a picture of it and people who know no better would probably give you the reaction you were looking for. Just a friendly word of advice to keep yourself from being "cussed" at in the future.

                                    Yes. - Happens a lot.
                                    .
About the only people that have a good customer service experience with Asus are those that have problems with still in production boards.
[Asus seems to keep few spares for RMA purposes. When they stop actually building your model you're probably screwed.]
                                    - Thus, when you see someone say they had a good experience with Asus C/S you pretty much know the board was a problem in less than a year, if not right out of the box.

So let me get this straight. You have your 12 year old daughter read your post to you? Frankly I don't think you have a 12 year daughter. What father buys a new gaming computer instead of investing it in their child's education?
Secondly, a grown man doesn't type that badly. Third, I'm pretty sure you're some punkass douchebag that impersonates someone then waste people's time for kicks. If you had any morals you wouldn't be rude and insult us as low intelligent fucks as you made us out to be. If anything I think you're a disgrace to society and to yourself.

You have no idea what a good PSU is:

                                        - And you don't have the slightest idea how to trouble shoot.

The writer of some forum post you read on the rare case where Asus actually came through on a warranty isn't 'your personal friend'.

Reading about a board does not constitute "working on it".

It's VERY doubtful you've had hands on experience with more than 4 or 5 boards in your life.
                                        - VERY clear by the questions you've asked here.
[If you have seen more than 5 then don't quit the day job because if you have -and- you -still- had to ask those question then you suck at computers.]
                                        .
Wow after reading all those threads, I can feel safe saying that you have no knowledge of computers at all. The fact you spent money on a Quad PCI-E board with no intentions to do a quad SLI or Crossfire setup leaves me to wonder why you would spend $500 on something that you're barely going to utilize. Other than to be a pompous rich prick with a broom stick up his ass.

I agree with this statement. It means nothing to me, it's just words with meaningless meanings. I'm not offended by it, nor the people I work with. Actually they think it's hilarious when I cuss out a supervisor that tries to play stupid.
And I get away with it too.
