So I took the Bios and EC chip off the old motherboard, and transferred them to the new motherboard and the laptop would power on (keyboard lights and activity lights, however it would not post or display anything. Would there be another chip related to a bios change as I have just reverted back to the original EC Chip to be able to somewhat still use the laptop.

Just had a thought, if the chip that I attached in the previous comment is in fact the Bios chip for this board, would I just be able to de solder it from the original board and then re solder to the new one and see if that would work from there, or would there be other chips that have to swapped over too.

Thank you for the information. I have had a look at the board that is in the laptop now and the old dead board. They both have the same name and model number (G533 - 6050A3250201 - Mb - A02(A2)). The G733 board (The one in the laptop that works) even says it's a G533 on the motherboard itself. I have attached pictures.
I think that I have also managed to find the bios chip, but I am still new and not too sure if it is or not, but again both of the boards have the same chip and numbers. I have also attached pictures of the chip that I think is the Bios chip.
Would it be...

I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.
My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.
The reason for wanting to do this is that the keyboard isn't working as it should, and I think this...

Hey,
I got into the world of trying to fix broken laptops in my spare time and I have to say that this form has been a god save for resources and knowledge. Thank you to the team that created this space and hosting it, without it I don't think that I would have been able to get this far in the hobby.
