    my soldering depot :)

Just thought I'd throw on some new pics of my soldering area. I have a light, iron, and all the caps right at my fingertips. I love these multi-drawer dealies... they make everything more organized and convenient.

    Very nice Noah!

Here's my mess of a bench after a 200+ corporate batch of Dell GX270's, and about 80 regular customers..... To catch the essence of how much it's used, I took this pic before I cleaned it up....

For that matter, are those plush toy "boggle eyes" in the third-from-bottom row drawer in dood's pic?

              LOL

It just keeps on coming.... 200+ from one client, 50 from another, plus my single-board customers (always a very steady flow of those)..... All that in a 2 week period.... It's been hell here the last few, and its not slowing down.... Long live bad capacitors and badcaps.net!

You mean in the 2nd drawer over from the left? Those are AT->PS2 keyboard adaptors....

Yes, believe it or not, I do still get folks with old AT machines coming through here!

I fix AT boards too - but I have separate AT and PS/2 keyboards for testing. Why? Because they were free

lots of cnc stuff is based on old at and proprietary psuedo at boards.
even rh boards ala packard bell.
gotta be ready for anything here.

                        SMD fuse soldering advice please
                        by Ady2017
Hi all. I need to replace an SMD fuse on my camcorder and this is the first time I have had to do any SMD soldering so your advice would be appreciated. Below is a picture of the board that I am working on and I have highlighted the fuse that needs to be replaced. I managed to zoom in to take this picture but the fuse is really tiny and is sandwiched between other components so this is going to be a new milestone for me. I appreciate that I am going to have to buy a new soldering iron if you could advice on what I need please. I was thinking about putting a big soldering iron across the whole...

Elitebook 840 G5 Bios Chip Soldering Question
                        by Azurain
                        Hi everyone,

I have an HP Elitebook 840 G5 that I am trying to get working again. I've removed the front bios chip (the 32mb one) and have run it through HP unlocker already. I've uploaded and verified the new bin, but am now experiencing an issue that has led me to believe I've been soldering the chip back to the motherboard incorrectly.

Essentially, after re-soldering the chip back into its place and reassembling the laptop, the charging light immediately flashes orange and white and then shifts to a solid white. The capslock and numlock lights blink seven times...

Yihua 992DA+ Hot air gun and soldering rework station, burnt mark
                        by Peter_1402
                        Hi Everyone,
I bought a Yihua 992DA+ hot air gun and soldering iron unit from a used market.
                        1. Soldering iron works great
                        2. There is a burnt mark on the hot air gun handle.
I am a bit concern by the look of the melted plastic. I opened the hot air gun handle and took some readings with a multimeter.
Heating element ~ 75ohm. (Similar reading taken from a spare heating element that came with the unit.)
Thermocouple ~ 1.5ohm. (Similar reading from the spare heating element.)
Reed switch tested ok with a magnet.
From the above test, I can conclude...

                        https://ko.aliexpress.com/item/4001275635593.html
Is there any good soldering station which is possible to use 900M-TJ-I tip and have inexpensive or reasonable price in aliexpress?

SEF 551.10 - How to raise the temperature of the unleaded soldering furnace?
                        by bpjl
                        Hi,

We continue to struggle with the SEF 551.10 reflow oven. After we managed to start it in october - the topic here -> https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...he-reflow-oven everything promised to be good. But...

While soldering with lead paste somehow goes, but we cannot force the stove to raise the temperature
that he would dissolve the unleaded binder. I even doubted what this bastard shows on screen and passed through it a thermocouple...
