Apparently you guys haven't heard about sock fetishes... socks actually sell quite well on eBay, especially dirty/sweaty ones * :

                    * though ebay requires sellers to wash them first, buyers often tell sellers to skip the washing, especially if the sellers are girls/women/football players.

I turn mine on and off as I need and let it run for at least an half hour, but if I'm home for the day, I leave it on until when I don't need to use it. I don't like raising the electric bill, and my Dad doesn't either.

**Need Help Unlocking BIOS and Hard Drive on Dell Precision 5820 Tower**
                          by federalhouse
                          Hi everyone,

I'm in need of assistance with a Dell Precision 5820 Tower. The BIOS is locked with "Dell Security Manager," preventing access to the HDD-1 hard drive.

                          **Background:**

I recently purchased this Dell Precision 5820 Tower from a recycler who salvages equipment from abandoned office spaces. The computer was left behind by its previous owner and was password locked. Given that it can run Windows 11, I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade my setup.

                          **What I've Tried So Far:**

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Running Line Voltage and Integrating LED Pods - Automotive
                          by FALKLAN
Howdy everyone! I hope all is well where ever you are!

I'm attempting to integrate a couple of LED pods into an automotive reverse lamp circuit. The problem being, while the vehicle is running there is a 8.5v current present on the reverse lamp power wire. Needless to say is that all LED pods and lights dimly illuminate while the 8.5v is present, so the LEDs are always powered on while the vehicle is running. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the voltage changes to 12 volts.

I am uncertain how to convert this line into a switched 12v output line for the LED pods....
