    Logisys Power Supplies

Has anyone had any experience with logisys power supplies? Do you know who makes them and are they any good? I know they are cheap but that does not mean they are bad.

Afaik they're made by Deer/L&C/Solytech or whatever name they might be operating under these days. They're rubbish.

Keerda Electronics. Not the worst, but certainly not the best. Most of them are decent 300-350W Keerda units with the OPP disabled.

The 575W logisys I had actually had two 200v, 820uf UCC primary caps. Rest were BH brand. Had 30A schottky's for the 5v and 3.3v, and a 30A ultrafast for the 12v.

They have a 480W ps with 120mm ball bearing fan, dual sata connectors and 820uf primary caps. It sure looked pretty good to me. That is why I thought I would ask about logisys.

still definitely not a 480w. more like a 250w-300w MAYBE (not even guaranteed) and even then its not gonna last long

              820uf primary caps = 400W

Of course, one should also take account the other components of the psu (switching transistors, transformer size, bridge rectifier etc) to have a complete image.

thats total bs. just because the primary caps are 820uf that means nothing. they probably took some tiny 680ufs and relabeled them...and that still has nothing to do with the output wattage of the psu.

Completely irrelevant to what I said.

The capacity of the input caps has nothing to do with how many watts the psu can do?

                  Here is a rough table:

                  220uF ~ -200W
                  330uF ~ 200-250W
                  470uF ~ 250-300W
                  680uF ~ 300-350W
                  820uF ~ 350-400W
                  1000uF ~ 400-500W+

Those values are without Active PFC.

Post internal pics if you can. If I recall a member here had a 480W logisys with the 120mm fan that was pretty poor internally.

i took one apart in front of him last time and showed why it was junk.he then told me these units have a very high return rate.iirc it was a "580w"

Maybe if you would quit trying to pretend like you knew everything about PSUs, you might actually learn something.

seriously, shovenose, sit back and read some info. like i said earlier, find something and be good at it, then you do not have to pretend you know things; you actually know them.
