I recently received a few packets of different KZN and other series, some of them are labeled " country of origin " Japan, some say China. Is this normal and should I be worried?

Re: UCC made where?
Is it normal: I'm going to say "yes". Just because they are called "Japanese", most capacitors are going to be made in China or Taiwan, even if they are from Panasonic, Rubycon, or NCC. In general if a cap is "chinese" or "taiwanese" or "Japanese" typically is used to refer to the the company that makes them. -
Re: UCC made where?
OK, thanks. I noticed that most of the Panasonics were made in Malaysia as were most of the Nichicons. Rubycons were mostly from Japan. The UCC KZN's I got were made in Japan, China and Malaysia. Somehow I figured that they would make a series in one place. Guess not.Comment

My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.Comment

Re: UCC made where?
IIRC Rubycon is the only on of them who has no fab in China, only Malaysia or somewhere around that corner.Less jewellery, more gold into electrotech industry!

by handsworthJust wanted to share some information that I ran across when attempting to do the tape method on a tv with a shorted panel. I normally use magnifying glasses however while watching a you tube video, the person was using their phone. It seems that the Iphone has a magnifier app and wow, it works great. I have Iphone 11 and the app is built in. Pictures attached are screen shots. Made taping the pins a breeze. Also useful when reading the tiny print on the boards. Hope this helps somebody. ...

by rumi409 Hi,
I'm trying to resurrect a LG OLED C1 TV that has some panel banding. I used the TCON error bypass to get a picture. I was able to update the firmware as well. But when I performed a pixel cleaning to try to get the banding out, it made the image significantly worse. I tried to undo the effects of the pixel cleaning by performing a factory reset and IN_Stop, but that didn't work. Any way to reset pixel cleaning data?...1 Photo - Loading...
