    samwha capacitors 10uf 200v/250v

The attached capacitors are used in the output filters of class D amplifiers and hold up well but when they fail, replacements are difficult to find. I've tried the various options on eBay and crossover caps and none survived. Mouser, Digi-key... don't stock many bi-polar electrolytic caps. The only thing that I found survived (never a failure) was the Mouser E2106 (part number 667-ECQ-E2106JF) and the same from Digi-key. They look different but survive. Does anyone know a readily available drop-in replacement electrolytic? The dimensions are approximately 16mm x 25mm.

it's BI-POLAR, you can use a polyester film cap if it will fit.

That's what I've been using. They work perfectly but there isn't always space for them.

Those caps can be subjected to a lot of ripple current, so it's no surprise they fail. Going with film caps is indeed the only long-term reliable option.

There used to be very high ripple current bipolar electrolytic caps made for CRT monitors... but with those gone the way of the Dodo bird, the need for these caps has also diminished and so pretty much none are in production, AFAIK.

I'm not sure if this will save you any space, though it may at least provide equally reliable results: using two POLAR electrolytic caps back to back in series with reverse/protection diodes across (a.k.a. poor man's bipolar electrolytic cap.) The diodes will allow for higher currents without damaging the caps, since each cap can only get reverse voltage up to the diode's forward voltage (V_f) - typically 0.7V, depending on the type of diodes used. With Schottky diodes, that can be reduced down to 0.2-0.5V.

The back-back electrolytics are commonly used but they don't use the diode. The reverse voltage applied to one cap on each half-cycle doesn't seem to be a problem (doesn't cause failures). I don't know if it's common for other circuits that use caps in this way but they use two capacitors with 2x the rail voltage. For ±80v rails, they use two 200v caps in series.

How can I test non-polarized capacitor?
            by chth96
I desoldered samwha NF capacitor(50v 5.6uf) from PCB circuit of 29inch CRT TV which have symptoms of no display after I heard sound of inrush of current to TV whenever I switch on this television.
I measured ESR value of this non-polarized capacitor(samwha NF capacitor 50v 5.6uf) by means of MESR-100 ESR meter and It displayed 0.3 ohm

And When I measured its capacitance with digital multimeter and LCR-T4 Mega328 meter, It displayed 10uf from DMM and 8uf from LCR-T4 meter.
I found catalogue of samwha capacitor(samwha-catalogue_3.pdf file), which is attached to this thread,...

            Looking for a Fuse T4AL/250V
            by Gadjet
I've got a Monitor that's not showing any video, and I found this blown Fuse. As you can see from the photos, the board location has T4AL / 250V. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!...

            samwha? in Samsung...
            by eccerr0r
I have an old apfc psu in a Samsung TV using Samwha WL-series capacitors. By inspection they are obviously dead. Oddly enough the other caps in the TV seem okay. Samwha appears to be a dubious manufacturer but are they? Their WL datasheet seems like they did do something to rate the capacitors but nevertheless they failed first, spectacularly.

As a proof of concept fix I'm tempted to replace them (two parallel 82uF 450V low esr) with two *series* 470uF 230V general purpose capacitors...

Should last an hour at least to prove the rest of the TV works, no?

i think i accidently ordered non-polarized 10uf caps for my original xbox. will this cause a problem?
            by bulkchart32
i ordered a lot of caps from digikey to repair my xboxs. one thing i ordered was 50NXA10MEFC5X11-ND caps and i think they are not polarized. will this cause any kind of a problem? i really don't want to order new caps just because of this.

            Allen&Heath XONE92 DJ mixer repair
            by JohnsonJ
            Hello everyone.

I'm having issues with my DJ mixer, and after taking it apart and checking everything out, it seems that I need to replace 2 rotary potentiometers for the filter, and that the PSU has some caps burned. Hopefully these 2 fixes will solve my issues.

The potentiometers I will just replace (hopefully the repairman I spoke with will indeed send me the spares, in case he doesn't, I'll update here if we can find a suitable replacement), but for the PSU caps I'd kindly ask you forum members, if anyone could help guide me in the right direction. I'm having difficulty...
