cap missing on 1.1v xbox
i'm working on making a 1.1v my main xbox. i noticed it is missing a couple caps from the 1.0v. does anyone know what this particular cap does and if i should add it to my 1.1v xbox? it's close to what i believe is the southbridge and i was concerned it may damage something if i added it since microsoft probably left it off for a reason(that reason may be to save money though)....

i didn't either. but there apparently is. the mclassic somehow fixes it on the 1.0v though. that's what stone age gamer and the behar bros claimed and i tested it. it turns out to be true. the mclassic is also something everyone needs to use with these consoles. the youtube videos don't do it justice when trying to show how much better that device makes an image look on these retro consoles.... -
cerbios on the 1.6v is perfect. takes care of all the video issues that revision is known for on the games i have tested so far. very nice clean and crisp pic with no interference or jailbars. and the only issue i have seen this adapter have a known issue with is the 1.0v and it only affects the sound there....Leave a comment:

i cannot get rid of the interference in the video on this 1.1v and i have tried everything!
i recapped the entire foxlink psu with rubycon caps of the exact uf needed. i also purchased a delta psu to see if the different brand would change anything and it did not. i recapped the entire motherboard except for about 5 of the 22uf caps. i used rubycon on everything except the five in front of the processors. i used 5 nichicon polymer caps there. i soldered a wire to each screw hole of the psu and soldered one wire to the metal outer shell and one to a screw hole on the motherboard(to make sure it was all grounded well). i also recently tried disconnecting the power cables from the dvd drive... -
but does it work any better with the solid state caps? less prone to interference maybe?...Leave a comment:

do u notice any difference with using all solid state caps like that? and will my none polarized caps work? because i already have them....Leave a comment:

they are SMDs around the av jack. i don't want to screw with SMDs so i bought regular caps to solder on and just bend over. won't look very nice but it will work....Leave a comment:

i already have the caps. i didn't realized they were non-polarized until i went to looking for the" -" stripe on the side of them and realized they did not have one. it costs $7 for shipping just to order some more caps so i really don't want to if these would work just fine. shipping would cost more than the new caps would....Leave a comment:

i think i accidently ordered non-polarized 10uf caps for my original xbox. will this cause a problem?
i ordered a lot of caps from digikey to repair my xboxs. one thing i ordered was 50NXA10MEFC5X11-ND caps and i think they are not polarized. will this cause any kind of a problem? i really don't want to order new caps just because of this. -
i also don't have the problem at all with my xbox2hdmi adapter. and my 1.6v xbox works fine with xedusa.Leave a comment:

i changed the vrm caps out and put polymer caps in their place. can u show me a video of how to pop open that connector?...Leave a comment:

mainly happens with that xedusa+ connector. looks great on my 1.6v xbox but i am having issues with the 1.0 and 1.1v xboxs....Leave a comment:

what issues can using polymer caps cause in the video signal? i'm having issues and wondering if that is the cause....Leave a comment:

does anyone have a schemtaic for what circuit each cap is in on the original xbox?
i have a 1.1v and i am having issues with faint wavy lines on the screen that i am trying to make perfect so it will be my main xbox.. also have some 1.0v's that are doing it but to a lesser degree. i really don't want to do a full board recap, especially don't want to have to replace those smds, so i want to find which specific caps that filter the video signal. i have already replaced several caps and messed up one of them that caused a dead short(has been repaired). so i really don't want to just do all the caps. plus, those 1.1v boards have a lot of them. i'd really like to just focus on the... -
yes, it is a fox psu. and i was able to fit them. recapping it did make some issues go away but, i'm not having diagonal lines and i wonder if this may be the cause?...Leave a comment:

thank u. i also had to replace some caps on my psu. there were 2 1200uf caps that were bulging and i replaced them with those same 1500uf poly caps mentioned above because i did not have any 1200uf caps. will that cause any problems since they are filtering caps?...Leave a comment:

are these caps good for replacing the ones in front of the cpu/gpu on an original xbox?
nichiconare what i used because i had heard the voltage doesn't matter as long as it is more than the original cap. i'm now reading that high voltage may make the cap's esr too high. is this a good cap for replacing those oem ones?1500 µF 16 V Aluminum - Polymer Capacitors Radial, Can 8mOhm 2000 Hrs @ 105°C
