I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Re: memory test fail -bad capacitor
Are you using onboard vga or addon graphics card? If onboard vga make shure that you are using the DDR 0 slot and not the DDR 1 slot because onboard video shares memory with the first slot. Yes u could have corrupt bios. Could even try to reflash with same bios version.Comment

Re: memory test fail -bad capacitor
Whoah, good to know such information. I have not come across any Yageo capacitors yet..
Who ever suggested for you to clean the memory slots with a screwdriver is a complete idiot, do not listen to that person. It is possible that there is a bios update by Compaq for that board that may fix the memory problems usually caused by incompatable ram from manufacturers. You will have to search Compaq for it.

by chth96I read EBOOK of Testing Electronic Component and found that
"In order to test the small blue resin coated ceramic disk capacitor which has 104 50v specification,it is possible to test this small ceramic capacitor by making use of analogue meter.
Set to times 10Kohm that has 12v output from the probe to check disorder of ceramic capacitor.
It is not uncommon that testing result of digital capacitance meter is okay,But It show shorted reading when you check it with analogue meter."
Is it really possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue...-

by chth96I desoldered samwha NF capacitor(50v 5.6uf) from PCB circuit of 29inch CRT TV which have symptoms of no display after I heard sound of inrush of current to TV whenever I switch on this television.
I measured ESR value of this non-polarized capacitor(samwha NF capacitor 50v 5.6uf) by means of MESR-100 ESR meter and It displayed 0.3 ohm
And When I measured its capacitance with digital multimeter and LCR-T4 Mega328 meter, It displayed 10uf from DMM and 8uf from LCR-T4 meter.
I found catalogue of samwha capacitor(samwha-catalogue_3.pdf file), which is attached to this thread,...-

by ktmmotocrossHello.
Know somebody how to successfuly test bad onboard memory and maybe even bad chip localization?
Have newer asus that show memory related BSOD. After reball still the same. how to test if it is some ram chip or maybe bad ball under cpu or even cpu07-16-2024, 05:33 AM - Loading...
