Is circled item split in half or is that a photo illusion?

Unless you just WANT to fix it I would toss it and replace it.

Yep, that circled item is split, shadow has nothing to do with it, unfortunately.
        Does it mean something particular?

EDIT: Okay, it isn't fully split, it has a cut in the middle.

Well, the fact is that I'm trying to fix it because I wanted to know if there's anything I can do to bring it to life before I go to some computer shop, get myself a new NIC and toss this thing in garbage. If there's nothing else to do, it's time for shopping!

Yes, it means it's probably bad.

Not bad, this is a spark gap with MOV in parallel.

During production, one wire is bent into U and both legs is attached to the MOV disc. Then dipped in coating, then the upper bent part of wire is sliced open.

That's normal and that is not the problem.

The other SMD pad with scratch mark was this part there or just missing?

            Cheers, Wizard

Why would a NIC have a MOV?
              Silkscreen says it's C45.
Looks like a ceramic cap to me.

If it helps you peeps the C45 is labeled as following:

GAP KAP (I googled a bit, it's a ceramic cap, not a MOV)
                1-2KV
                ARC

                  That's what I thought. - NICs don't need MOVs.
And a cracked ceramic cap could kill a NIC.

It doesn't matter if it's a high voltage capacitor or a MOV. They are essentially the same thing.

The NIC is not directly connected to the cable. The data lines go through an isolation transformer. The ground goes through a high voltage cap. This blocks ground loops and improves lightning resistance.

Okay people, seems like this NIC is more dead than I thought (btw, I bought myself another one) so I will announce this thread locked.

Thanks to all of you who spent some effort to help me!

Board had no history of liquid; unsure of drop history, but no signs of damage of any kind worth noting.

Charger sitting at 5v/0a. PPBUS is at 1.9v-0.9v steady cycle (peaks, drains, loops). Confirmed CHGR_EN_MVR is missing, but DCIN was reaching ISL just fine, so replaced ISL--no change at all. Confirmed pp3v8_aon is also missing--and being unsure *exactly* which signal appears first (or if they are simultaneous), I inspected PMU/U8100 area and found no shorts, but also found PP3V8_AON_MPMU_ISNS_VIN missing (not shorted). Replaced U8100 just in case (have had them fail in weird ways),...

                            Hi everyone,

I recently acquired this card from a seller who was selling a PowerMac G5 for parts. He mentioned that the video card was probably broken too.

Upon closer inspection, I can tell the reason why it won't work: it's missing a bunch of CAPS! (it's also missing an inductor - 1.0uH).

It's a nice card as it's one of the few AGP cards that will support 2560 x 1600 resolution on a PowerMac G5 using a 30" Cinema Display.

Looking at the card, it appears to be missing the following:

                            1x 1.0uH inductor - orange square

                            Hey guys.

                            Need help with this one.
Fan not spinning due to missing PWN Fan signal.
Also 5 seconds from powering up it freezes, unless in BIOS.
But as soon as Windows starts to load, it will freeze.
CPU is COLD / Room temp when it freezes.

I've replaced the CPU, same problem.
Replaced SIO/KBC IT8987e and reprogrammed - same problem.
                            Replaced fan - same problem.
Replaced flex cable from board to daughterboard (which has fan connector on it) - same problem.

Hello. I would need some advice please.

My son's MBP suddenly stopped working and is now only getting the green-then-orange light on Magsafe and no fan spin.
He brought the MBP into the house (22 deg C) from a very cold conservatory (-3 deg C) and turned it on straight away. The Mac suddenly died a few minutes later.

I examined the logic board and couldn't find any signs of water damage, corrosion, blown up components etc. Nothing was ever spilt on it, and the logic board looks immaculate.

I have already replaced the logic board with another...

                            Missing Capacitator Intel I9-12900KF CPU
                            by ein_individuum
I bought a use Intel I9-12900KF CPU and i received it damaged. But it looks like only one component one the backside is missing. But the solder pads looks fine.
I already "googled" it and compare the backside picture of other LGA1700 12th Gen CPU. They look all the same, no matter if its an I9 or an I3, even the Pentium. And at that spot should be a capacitor.

Does anyone have a schematics or assembly diagramm of the alder-lake cpu-backside? Or just know what size and value i need to replace the missing capacitator.
