Sanyo -> Suncon by SUNELEC
Hi technician,
I'll advise you that a couple of days ago I ordered some
Sanyo aluminum electrolytic capacitors from Austria.
Surprise!
The capacitor arrived are SUNCON ( produced by SUNELEC ).
I immediately search in this site if anyone know this brand,
but at the moment there are few results and sometimes the site give a:
"No result" answer.
So I surfed the net until I found Suncon website, and I discovered
this usefull information:
1969 "Established Yamaguchi Sanyo Industries Co., Ltd. (currently Shimonoseki Plant).
Started to produce TV tuners
Constructed the Masuda Plant and started to produce Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors."
To be precise that's what I ordered:
Sanyo 25ME100AX ( ME-AX series )
Sanyo 50ME100WX ( ME-WX series )
...and that's what arrived:
SUNCON S.E.05 ( ME-AX series )
SUNCON S.E.90 WX ( ME-WX series )
I also ordered Sanyo OS-CON, and they remain with Sanyo brand.
Here is Sanyo website, you will find POSCAP and OS-CON:
http://edc.sanyo.com/english_lite/pr...tor/index.html
Here is Suncon website, you will find series no longer avaible from Sanyo:
http://www.sunelec.co.jp/eng/history.html
And Suncon catalog:

Half of the computer problems is caused by bad contacts
Half of the computer problems is caused by bad contacts
I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...
