The flash drive is unbranded bought a board from Tvparts and the drive came with it, when you put the firmware on it shows 359MB left with 1.87 GB used so believe its only a 2GB drive but it said dont use anything bigger than 4GB or firmware wont work, i flashed my sony with the same mian board that i could not get work previously and it took first time.

HI, everyone I have good news! I have the XBR-65x930D working, you won't believe how, it seems the firmware needs no bigger than a 4g flash drive, when I put it on a 4g the firmware updated now the tv is like new no issues at all. hope this helps someone with the same issue I was having.

Does it respond to the remote
    turn on and off..

I just had this problem on one.
it turned out to be the flat cable coming from the led driver board to the dps board wasnt inserted correctly
    might be worth a check

I think these xbr-x900 series are some of the worst lemons sony has come out with, there has to be a common fault on these but I have not been able to figure it out, symptom always seems to be the same, andriod music, no picture no backlight, very low voltage at the tcon fuse, like 1 volt or less. Sometimes there is backlight but no picture and usually the amber/green blinking and doesn't seem to take an update no matter how you try it.

Check the led driver board as advised by davi.p

you should have 12v going from the led board to the tcon.

if you don't you have some issue there ..

On the red side you have 24v

on the blue side 3v with a good dps.

I disconnected the dps cables to the tcon and set will then flash red green

but on the tcon you should still have 12v.

been working on a couple of these myself this weekend.

If it turns on, your dps is fine

the cables that go from the dps to the tcon

examine them check for any damage they are easy to damage.

also on these if you power up without the tcon conencted up u end up with amber green lights flashing..

when that happens just let it power on then connect usb and leave it for hour or so ..
    it mostly updates fine..

some times if it on blinking white connect the usb then it starts the update..
    some time it takes longer..

when update dated it should respond to the remote.. power on and off etc..
also try menu commands to see if you have sound.

    v unlikely u have 3 dead boards..

admittedly hard to decipher this, much harder with no obvious voltage legend on the dps board, I might be tempted to throw another dps board at it if they are reasonably priced. I wish I would have tried that before I fried my mainboard with overheating, might want to fully test the dps board first, I don't have enough dealing with them to know much about them but I bet some of these guys do.

On the led driver board (it does not only that) there are 2 coils in series, grey big square, i've read a problem in those coils in another thread, check their resistances

check second link down, post #29, see if that dps board is sending proper voltage to the mainboard if you have not.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
    by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
    by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

Sony XBR65x930D - left half screen is grainy
    by misterhaus
Hi, this is my first post - so thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have a Sony XBR 65x930D (manufactured in July-2016), which was initially showing a black screen, faint backlight glow, and played musical sounds when powered up. After some experimenting (mostly unplugging cable and re-plugging), including attempting hard-reset and firmware update, it is now showing video, but the left side of the screen is fuzzy/grainy. (See attached pic)

I am trying to decide if this could be the T-CON board, or the DPS board.
When I press on the upper right of the DPS...

Sony KD-55XG9505 lines on screen problem
    by Chrissygizmo
    Hello again everyone,

This is my latest mission, to try getting this Sony tv back to normal working order…

I've only just got it today, when you power it up everything is as should be, in fact it works perfectly for a few minutes then the screen starts getting horizontal lines on & eventually the full screen goes back, I will upload photos of the problem & also some photos of the board etc. You might notice that I'm busy trying the tape method, I'm not sure exactly where the clock lines are so I'm just guessing & hoping for the best lol . I've already tried...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
    by smic717394
    Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...
