    PS. AFAIK, voltage regulators have a designation of I or IC. Transistors which can look like voltage regulators are marked with Q.

    Again, read the markings on the chip, look up its datasheet and you will get all the info.

          Yes, that is correct. However, you may want to double check the part number you are looking up.

          I'm not familar with this TV, but 60V DC sounds like a lot? The ones I'm used to seeing on LCD computer monitors is 2.5V, 3.3V or 5VDC.

          The only "TV" I have worked on is the Daytek and all the voltage regulators are in the 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5VDC range. So again, double check your part number.

          More experienced members should be able to tell you if 60V DC is normal on this board.

            Its actually a computer monitor...I somehow stupidly posted it in the wrong forum.....I've double checked, its for sure FQD13N06L.

              I have zero experience in board design/layout, but I find it strange that this monitor has an external power supply outputting 12V DC uses a 60V voltage regulator? Especially on the logic board?

              I have 2 LCD monitors (in stages of repair) that use external power supplies and I don't recall seeing any DC volts higher than the what is being output by the external power supply.

              Maybe one of the more experienced people can explain from a design theory point of view why such a higher voltage is needed?

                uhm... 60V is what the mosfet he posted a link to (in post #23) is rated for.

                    I found the Vreg. its and AIC1084PM datasheet looks to rate it at a max of 3.3v, with power to it, with inverter disconnected it measures 8 volt with 1 probe on (pin 1) ground and the other on Vin (pin 3) and 1.25v on stub (pin 2). Now if I move my ground prob to the PCB ground (screw hole) Pin3 reads 10.x volts, pin2 reads 3.3volts. So why is one ground point reading differently than the other? Now off to read how to test that mosfet that gets HOT when it has the load of the inverter connected to it.

                          Ok, so I took the MOSFET from the other board since I have 2 of these things.... It at least wasn't open or shorted. I got a .191 reading from it using the diode test on my meter. So I solder it in place. Power up the monitor and the Power LED is lit with both green and orange. The board does not appear to be heating up as before. But I don't get any picture and the back lights don't light up. This is getting frustrating. It appears to be a never ending trail of bad components on this thing.

                          PS. Could not find a source for replacement on this MOSFET. Anyone have a good cross reference source for it? After I figure out one of these I'll be wanting to repair its donor/twin and will need a new MOSFET for sure.

                              Do you have a source plugged into the monitor?

                              Does the LED go green first and then orange? If yes, how long does it stay green before going orange? Once it goes orange, does it stay orange?

                              Can you see a picture if you shine a flashlight on it?

                                Both green and orange light up at the same time. With or without a source. I don't see any picture with a light shining on it. Also the power button does not appear to do anything. LED lights when it comes on and stays on till I unplug it...

                                          Its a dual color LED. one LED that lights both green and orange. I'm guessing its green when power is on, and orange in sleep mode.
