Sonos Play 1 with blown cap and fuses

    Hi there.
I was given a Sonos Play 1 (yeah, very old) that does not turn on.
Checking the main board, I can see a blown cap, that connects to two blown fuses. Right by the LAN port.
Where should I start looking for the main fault?
    Thank you.

I see those are gone, along with the cap.
Imgur works just fine here to see full image.

desolder the network transformer and meter the coils in it.

if it wont boot without the transformer then it may have fried the network chip - i hope it's seperate and not part of the cpu!

Would it be the one with the number 2 next to it, with TP366 printed between its legs on the back side of the board?

cant find it in the photo!
desolder the network transformer connected to the burned bits and then meter the pads on the board to see if other stuff is shorted.
i presume you already did the finger test to see if any chips are cooking

I did use a thermal cam and nothing seems to get hot.
I'll try removing it later and check for shorts on the pads. I'll report back.
              Thanx.

Blown fuses on Gigabyte GTX 980TI 6GB
                by MrzPdlch
                Hey everyone,

I just went ahead and unscrewed a faulty GTX 980 TI from Gigabyte. What I found beneath the cooler was, as it seems, a common issue of that card. Two blown fuses on the bottom right corner of the card next to a MOSFET.
Now my question would be if there is any schematics of that card available to figure out which are the blown components so I can try and replace them together with the mosfet if needed.

Find some pictures of the actual GPU together with a picture of how it should look like.
I also wonder whther it might be a problem that there...

Sonos Play 1 Gen. 2 with no power
                by dbuergi
                Hi all,

i got a Sonos Play 1 Gen. 2 with no light and no power. Until now i only worked on Gen. 1 and know which components "like" to blow up but at this board everything looks fine. Until now i also didn't find any short.
The only problem i found was chip 6D9 heating up to 110c when power supply is connected. Since this is a PMIC i will replace it.
Do you have any other ideas what to check or can these chips get faulty without any other component quitting the job?

                Sharp LC-40LE812E fuses blown
                by gozotto
                Hello,
I repaired a Sharp LC-40LE812E TV with the main power board DPS-126CP B.
All fuses blown and the capacitor C7813 (220pF 1KV) was cracked. After replacing both, the TV works again without any problems. After 2 weeks the same problem apears with the same symptoms. What can the C7813 blown again and again? The schematic can be found here.

                Thanks in Advance

Sonos Play 1 no power repair
                by seanc
A small thread from me - got a Sonos Play 1 exhibiting no power.

Opened it up expecting to find the primary side damaged by a power surge or similar, but it was all fine.

I found a short on the 24vdc side. I recalled watching a video by bigclivedotcom about him fixing Nest heat links with a similar issue and checked out diode D302 above the transformer. Upon removal of the diode - no more short!

Replaced with some ordered from RS it's alive again!...
