    65UJ654T Backlight but no image

    As titled, just backlight and sound on.

    I disconnect right side TCON LVDS and half screen is white other half just blank. If I reconnect it and disconnect other LVDS whole screen is blank like how I started. Does this mean bad panel?

      I added pics and took some reading from test points on TCON

      When right side LVDS connected I get
      VIN 13v
      VCC 0.8v
      VGH 0v


      With just left side or no LVDS cables connected
      VIN 13v
      VCC 3.3v
      VGH 28v

      Either way I still get no image on screen. How do I differentiate between bad panel or bad TCON?

          try the tape cut-off method.

              I tried but always getting low voltages on TCON when right cable connected. I then looked at the panel boards and getting shorts on some of the caps on right side and none on the left. Could bad capacitors be the problem or this just indicative of bad panel? I highlighted the shorted caps in the pics

                  If neither side is providing an image, it is worth trying to replace the tcon board. Maybe find a seller that takes returns.

                      wow I took the 4 caps off the panel board that were showing short I tried without replacing them and now i got full display and seems to be working fine? what do those caps do? it was only c320 that was actually bad and i ripped up a couple of pads trying to desolder the little things

                          ok, if short is gone, then it was just a bad cap, I should have said check the caps first. I would replace the bad cap. Maybe look on youtube for pad repair or a similar solution.

                                      Thanks luckily It was only ground pads I lifted so was able to just bridge to adjacent cap.

                                              I have a Macbook Pro A2442 with the 820-02098 from a friend which has no picture on the display, however, the backlight works.
                                              He was streaming a football match on a questionable site, then the site crashed, and the problem emerged.
                                              Initially, he sent it to apple, who quoted him £1323.95 to replace the display, lid angle sensor and top case.
                                              Obviously, he decided against this and gave it to me so that I could have a crack at it.
                                              From initial diagnostics, I connected to an external monitor, I first tried with a HP 22W monitor, and I booted into the boot menu...

                                              Hi everyone!

                                              First post on here so do tell me if i'm doing anything wrong. I have a laptop that came in with a broken hinge, but a healthy LCD. We replaced the LCD rear cover and now we do not get an image on the LCD anymore, though we get one via HDMI. There is sadly no schematic or boardview available for this motherboard (Bucks U42 DIS 17817-1) as far as i can tell, but I was able to identify which of the important pins on the LCD eDP connector (30 pin 2 lane) correspond to which pins on the motherboard display connector (which is 40pin, 30 for LCD and 10 for camera/face rec etc)...

                                              Hello Community!

                                              CASE DETAILS

                                              Promblem Signs: Backlight on 1 sec off 7sec > repeat && Red standby light: 1blink, off 3 sec, 2 blinks, off 5 secs, 2 blinks, off 3 sec, restart cycle

                                              13V present on powerboard output. Backlight continues flashing after removing cables to pannel one at a time and even with both disconnected. NOTE: backlight STOPs flashing and remains on when connector between powerboard and mainboard (note Tcon built in) is disconnected.

                                              Tried inserting firmware on USB and left it in for a few hours, but no change

                                              Image and display backlight are present while macOS is load but the display turns off before log in. The laptop is working (hear sounds), but without image and backlight. Internal LCD normal is worked in safe mode also when connect external LCD.

                                              I think the problem is with the integrated graphics iGPU.

                                              Is it possible to disable iGPU ?...

                                              this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
                                              i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
                                              unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
                                              according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...
