Re: Philips LCD 42PFL5432D/37 - Bad PSU

I have this TV Philips 42PFL5432D/37 and someone had worked on it before me so they kinda messed it all for me. I am having a problem with the power supply. It is doing that chirping and I can not get it to stop. Does anyone know the proper values for ZD902, 904, 906, 908? I found a P6KE120A and a P6KE350A removed from the board and seems they were missing from ZD902 & 904 but the diagram I found says both ZD902 & 904 are P6KE120A. I found a P4KE250A in ZD906 and I assume that is correct. Cap 947 was reading 2uf instead of 6.8uf so I changed that but I still have the chirping. Power supply board is 715T2432-2. Thank you

Re: Philips LCD 42PFL5432D/37 - Bad PSU

I just picked up an 42PFL9603D(/10) from a buddy that said it didnt turn on and didnt want to spend time fixing it.

I'm not very technically inclined, but I can something and want to learn more. I have turned away back cover and started troubleshooting. Can not see any obvious errors, but I have discovered a few things.

There is a buzzing sound when I plug the power cord in, not very high but just so you can hear it.

There are NO signs of life in the standby LED. Completely dead.

If I remove the cable that goes from "standby led board" to the motherboard, illuminates a green LED on the back (of the motherboard). If I plug that cable back again, the same green LED turns off again.

Is it bad caps as many suggest, or do I have to troubleshoot some more first? Could someone please point out which ones I have to replace?

I dont have a multimeter by hand right now, and if you guys mean its something else than bad caps that causes this error, I will just trash it..

I just by luck had the flashing screen upon power up, and thought it was the ps caps again.....thing is that I fixed it for this nice older lady who cuts my hair....less than a year ago, and I thought......no way when I put in pannys instead of crapicon.......just for s**ts and grins....I took off the lid of the main digital, and OMG.....3 more crapicons.....split like the do........will replace here in a minute and let you know my findings.....no one is going to tell ssg Kelly that he cant fix it.......stay safe!!!

I have a Philips 42PFL9603D. Not the same model. A year newer but the same brand.

I took the back off using just a T10 (Torx) screwdriver. Pretty common.

You might want to Google the chassis number to locate the service manual before you take it apart. Don't want to remove too many screws.

I put the parts on the other board, which was dead. It makes the rd lite come on, then if you push the red lite button on front of tv, the green on comes on. But no screen light. The "chirping is not on that board, though. What I guess I have to do is recheck ALL the diodes, transistors, again. Bed time now. Ill pick you all up tomorrow. THANKS so far.

zd906 is right by that transformer and which 47uf did you replace or did you replace both of them? c958 is also by that transformer.

Re: Magnavox LCD 47MF437B/37 Bad PSU

http://www.wadictatv.com/Magnavox%20...715T2454-2.jpg = Open up in separate window and compare:

The magnavox 47MF437B/37 uses the same power supply as the above Philips unit, or, they share the same TRANSFORMER #80TL37T912 LS. Which is "chirping." Here is my problem. And here is my question.
= Should I salvage a duplicate transformer off another unit of same value and replace this one that is chirping? Seems to be the last resort, short of buying another PSU at $75.00 +++

    MAGNAVOX 47" LCD Model 47MF437B/37
    POWER SUPPLY: 715T2454-2
    A. Transistor? P7Nk80ZFP works fine
    B. Transformer: 80TL37T912 LS = "chirping" Noise.
At one time worked fine: NOT REPLACED YET
    C. 1500uF 35v replaced
    D. 2200 uF 35v replaced
    E. double diode / checked = good
    F. 2200uF 16v replaced with same at 35v
    G. 47uF 25v replaced with 50v

Sold and worked fine, until it went dead.
    Customer says it did this:
    1. Work fine until one day:
    2. Turned on workeds until turned off, then when turn back on, would not come on.
    3. Next day turned on fine, the worked a bit, shut off.
    4. rest cool off. Later turned on, worked the n shut off.
    5. Finally would not turn on. When he would try, it would start and begin makiing the chirping noise and eventually stopped turning on.
    6. He heard small "chirping" inside next to power supply. I used small very long 12" metal screw driver with plastic handle as old time hear-in-aid up to ear. YEP, transformer was the loudest chirping componant.

I opened it up. Found bulging "F" capacitor. replaced it with 2200uF 35v.
Replaced and pluged in and still same chirping.
Replaced "G" cap, -= same chirping.
    CHIRPING comes from "B" Transformer.

So, I figure it is a bad Transformer?
    ANYONME have any idea?

Thank you for this thread. My Philips 42" (42PFL5432D/37) would shut off into standby (red power button) after a few seconds. I recapped the power supply with the 3 1500uf and 1 2200uf cap from Mouser and it's up and working again! It appeared that only the 2200uf cap was bulged but all have been replaced with the Panasonic caps.

The caps used were as follows.
    1500uf Panasonic PN: EEU-FM1V152L
    2200uf Panasonic PN: EEU-FM1C222

Hope this helps out the next guy.

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

Philips 42PFL5432D/37 power supply issue no 12v
    by Ifixstuff9
I have a Philips TV that shows no signs of life when plugged in - no standby LED, no response to buttons, no noises, nothing. This model is well known for having bad caps, so I started by replacing a few of them (3x 35v 1500uf and 1x 2200uf 16v). I don't know the history of the TV but it looks like someone's been at it before because some of the solder joints looked really bad, so I re soldered them as well.

After swapping the caps I still got no signs of life so I started checking voltages, and found that the board is supplying 24v but not 12v. Here's what I measured on the connector...

Philips 43PUS7506/12 - Loud blown out sound
    by aidanmo
    Hello,

I've got a really strange issue with the speakers on my Philips 43PUS7506/12. It makes this awful loud buzzing now. It happened after it was attempted to be wall mounted - I think the back got squeezed and something broke.
I thought maybe the speakers got damaged, so I replaced them - no dice.
    • Using the internal speakers, it always happens.
    • Using the headphone jack, it never happens.
    • Using the digital/optical out with a soundbar - it happens after about 2h/movie runtime - it's never as drastic, it just pops in and out, but I didn't want it to damage the sound bar

Philips 50PUH6400 bad color and gosting / slow motion on one side
    by Cornito
    Hello Team,

New issue on LCD panel where I need to find out the cause and the potential solution.
This is on the Philips 50PUH6400, the LCD panel is an INNOLUX V500dk2 xrs1.

I have image, on the right side, the image is more or less normal even if there is a small blur on edge, on the left there is an issue.
When moving up and down in the menu on the right the image is slow to disappear, and is darker, like red/brown.

I've checked voltages, no issue found comparing right and left side of the panel driver.

Activate power board Philips 40PFH40009/88 tv
    by spantor
    Hello partners.

Could someone tell me how to make this Philips TV source work without the mainboard being connected? The model of the board is EAX65423701 (2.1) and the model of the Philips TV is 40PFH40009/88.
The TV is dead, there is no standby light, however there is a voltage of 12v on the pins ( included 12v VAU ) and 3.2v on the PS-ON pin (see photo) when the power board is connected to the main board. If I disconnect both boards I only get 8 volts on 12v pins. I would like to rule out a fault in the main board by making it work, but so far no one has been able to tell...
