I just picked up an 42PFL9603D(/10) from a buddy that said it didnt turn on and didnt want to spend time fixing it.

I'm not very technically inclined, but I can something and want to learn more. I have turned away back cover and started troubleshooting. Can not see any obvious errors, but I have discovered a few things.

There is a buzzing sound when I plug the power cord in, not very high but just so you can hear it.

There are NO signs of life in the standby LED. Completely dead.
