    Lg 32le4500

    Hi all,
I use to repair TV's for my bread and butter but now do it as a hobby. I have the above tv from a friend for repairs. When the TV is turned on cold it comes on ok, I have set the unit to display the demo screen and it will happily continue to do this for hours and then the relay in the PSU will start turning on and off repeatedly. If I check the on/off voltage from main board to turn the PSU you, it is fluctuating. The back light also turns off. however if I partially remove the riser to the back light the backlight turns on, but the screen is blank. If it turn the set off and leave it for 45min its turns on again and is fine. I have replace ALL the electrolytic caps in the PSU, not sure where to look next ? could it be the main board ? are there any more electrolytics I could have missed or is it something else ?
thanks in advance for any help
    kind regards
    Gavin

Have you tried pressing on processor to see if if stabilizes?

It is a bga issue. A proper re- balling will cure it.

I'd just reflow it, a decent reflow will last years.

I don't know of any actual reflow videos. Reflow implies that the solder is molten. All the "reflows" I've watched are just heating the board with flux to clean the oxide from the broken solder joints.

Reflowing is melting the solder. Some of the balls crack due to thermal expansion and contraction over time, mainly due to the lack of lead in the solder that allowed a little bit of flex.
Reballing replaces the lead free balls with leaded ones that should provide a longer lifespan.

Can you suggest a video of a real reflow?

I haven't watched one for years since I bought my rework machine.

They will look like the videos you are watching but without the stupid "cleaning oxidization from broken joints" comments and more "it's to reflow the cracked balls" comments. They have a profile that melts solder and they might nudge the chip to check the solder is liquidious and watch it spring back.

OP, There is a great thread on here with some decent home reflowing, use the search feature along with my username as I know I was in it, you should be able to find it.

MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

LG L192WS-BN backlight turns off after 1 second
                          by www
I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

Samsung UE55F8000SZ Turns on and off immediately
                          by Egidio85
good morning, I have a samsung UE55F8000SZ tv that turns on, shows the logo and turns off after 1-2 seconds.
This defect happens continuously, hearing the classic click of the relay every time.

                          Power supply board BN44-00636B

disconnecting the mains and lamps from the power board always causes the same problem.
Is it normal that without anything connected this power supply turns on and off cyclically?
any suggestions on what to check?

                          thanks in advance

Looking for help diagnosing a 65" Panasonic Viera TV - TH-65DX700Z (Turns on - Clicks - Turns off)
                          by mostachio
                          Hi Badcaps,

I've had a friend discard a TH-65DX700Z Pansonic Viera Television and I've decided to have a go at repairing it. If possible could I please get some advice in terms of diagnosing the problem so I can purchase the appropriate parts for repair whether it be components, a repair kit or a replacement board. I am happy to post pictures if required.

                          TV Details:

                          Model # - TH-65DX700Z

                          Symptoms:

The television turns on and displays a picture then makes a clicking sound and turns off.

I haven't opened it up yet but...
