My Vizio M60-C3 was dead. No power, no lights. Just nothing. So I took the back cover off and noticed 4 bulging caps on the power supply board, so I replaced them (green low esr capacitors in the picture). The tv now works! But there are some areas that look dim (see picture). In particular, the left side has a dim band. I know that the led strips run horizontal, yet this band is vertical. Could it be that the led driver board is bad? Could the blown caps have taken out the led driver board? Or is this just a coincidence that every left side led on each strip just went out?

Re: Vizio M60-C3 left side of screen + a couple other areas dim
I will do that if I have to. The thing is that the pattern of the dark areas seems suspicious. Normally, if a string of LED backlights go out, there is a horizontal dim area. In my case, the dim areas are vertical. Sould I attempt to replace the LED driver board first?Comment

Re: Vizio M60-C3 left side of screen + a couple other areas dim
I have the same exact issue with a fixed M60-C3 ( 4 bad PSU caps ).
I see almost the same as the picture in initial post.
Was there ever a solution to this issue ?Comment

Re: Vizio M60-C3 left side of screen + a couple other areas dim
I just repaired a 65" Vizio. The lower left quadrant was dim. When I got it apart there were 16 strips, and only 3 were working.I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.Comment

I ordered a full set from ebay and will report back the repair.
Could the cap issue have caused damage to the strips maybe through overvoltage ?Comment

by StephenRight SIDE usb.c port charges and transfers data without issue, two left side uSB c ports charge but do not receive or see data. Was liquid damaged, and repaired significantly and thought we were in the clear but appears this is the last issue that is rearing its head. I am trying to locate the RETIMER chip that communicates the DATA TX/RX but I cannot seem to find it on the schematic or maybe I am just so tired my eyes wore out lol. Any help would be great.05-29-2025, 10:35 AM

by Pinky DeepakI have a M60-C3 where the left edge has started showing issues as seen in the picture attached. Along with this, I also noticed some darkening on the left half of the screen which went away after I left the TV unplugged. i initially thought it was the led backlight that was wearing out but looks like something to do w the TCONN board. I searched this forum but couldn't find anyone else seeing this issue. most of them were LH/RH completely gone. any insights or guidance is appreciated.
Here's a video of both the issues: https://youtu.be/hMqc760nB3o1 Photo -
by GjacksonHi all,
I have a SMEG cooktop with a EGO 72.08041.002 power board. The two left hand side cooktops started to slowly fail, sometimes stopping with an EA error (Power board failure according to the manual) after a couple minutes boiling some water and eventually they completely failed and now get an EA error on both of them at all times. Visual inspection of the board went over ok, I checked the IGBT's and rectifiers and they seem fine, what should I look at next as this is the first time I'm fixing an induction cooker, I'm suspecting capacitors in this case, Which ones should I look... -
by x_orange90_xI got this tv yesterday and it shows a screen full of colored vertical bars and horizontal lines that move, change, and dance around. When the set is powered on there is a slight buzz from the tcon. I removed one ribbon at a time and this was the result:
Right side connected, left side disconnected = half image on right (somewhat distorted, see photo attached) white screen on left. NO buzzing from TCON
Left side connected, right side disconnected = right side black, left side white with distorted horizontal lines near top of screen. Buzzing from TCON
