    Vizio (E552VL): Works for about 10 seconds then...

    a really loud screech and it powers off. If I do not allow the tuner to lock on a station/channel the tv will stay on for as long as I continue to change the channel effectively preventing the tuner from locking onto a signal. However,when I stop changing the channel and it locks and I get audio/video signal about 5 seconds later SCCREEEECCCCHHH distorted image [random colors] then powers off.

    The only other thing that I think is unusual is the illumination of the "Vizio" that changed from orange to white when powered on-this light completely goes dark when the TV is on. I thought the light was constant on (white) and orange when off but plugged in.

    TV was working fine before we moved, so it was jostled around during transport and setup.

    Sound like a main PCB or the PSU PCB?

      Found someone with a similar problem who replaced both PSU and Main PCB and neither fixed the TV....

          I don't know Vizio, them are not sold here, but check first inside for detached ferrite rings that were self adesive glued to screen chassis.. check if ther is a separate tuner board and if yes check all solderings inside, check dc dc convertors inside main board. Check for cracks in the boards or speakers connectors short to chasssis..

              Finally got around to looking at this tv further. When watching movies on Vudu, Netflix or USB stick the TV works fine endlessly.

              When watching with the tuner this is when it craps itself and powers off shortly after a minute and the image becomes completely scrambled.

                  If TV works on all other inputs that kind of says it all.
                  I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

                      Hi all forum members,
                      Fyi, i have been working on this old model PCT-4082 (4 channel car amplifier). The owner said only one channel is working.
                      My initial finding is this amp originally use Toshiba 2SA1943 and 2SC5200 transistor for its output but after opening the top casing i found it used Toshiba A1941 (pnp)and C5198(npn). I desoldered all the 4 pairs transistors and found 1 piece A1941 open(tested "OL" on all legs) and replaced the 1st pair with 2SA1943 and 2SC5200, thats why you can see in the picture it is the bigger size transistor. The other A1941 and C5198 all...

                      My tv will work for a while and change channels with the remote as it should but then it will stick on one channel only and work ok but it won't change channels. I have tried unplugging it for hours and whilst unplugged pressing the power button on the tv to reset it.

                      The volume button on the remote still works but it just won't change channels once it decides to stick on one channel

                      It has built in basic freeview tv here in the uk, I've tried doing an automatic search to reset the tv but nothing works.

                      I have to turn the tv off and then on again with...

                      old X58 triple channel board... memtest86 memory speed?

                      Anyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.

                      Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...

                      Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...

                      I have used the search, and am stumped.

                      My Vizio M65-C1, Vizio logo appears for about 10 seconds then goes off.Power LED blinks 15 times then the TV powers down.

                      I have read through many threads on the M65-C1 including the following threads. I feel like I must be looking right past the solution to my problem:

                      Dell Inspiron 3542 Turns on works for 30 seconds to 1 minute then turns off

                      Hi all need some help, I've got a Dell insprion 15 3542 that turns on works for about 30 seconds or sometimes a minute or two and then turns off and wont turn on again until I remove and replug the power connector
                      Not heat related, everything is ok regarding to that.
                      All voltages are present.
                      Wondering if this as anything to do with one wire circuit, the charger is not original, but it was working fine
