Advice needed-Technika 32-207 works but sticks on channel,won’t change channels ok

My tv will work for a while and change channels with the remote as it should but then it will stick on one channel only and work ok but it won't change channels. I have tried unplugging it for hours and whilst unplugged pressing the power button on the tv to reset it.

The volume button on the remote still works but it just won't change channels once it decides to stick on one channel

It has built in basic freeview tv here in the uk, I've tried doing an automatic search to reset the tv but nothing works.

I have to turn the tv off and then on again with the remote in order for me to get out of it being stuck on a channel.

Question it likely a faulty component in the tv causing this ? And which component ?

I just tried it on the tv itself and it won’t change channels once it stays only on one channel. The tv when I first turn it on will change channels on the remote or on the tv itself for a while but after a while such as 5 or 10 mins it won’t change channels. The volume button on the remote will still work even if it won’t change channels.

Sometimes after pressing the changing channels button it will change channels a long time later and other times not at all. What’s the likely problem? A bad capacitor or another component?

Also, earlier before it wouldn’t change channels but then I pressed the up and down button lots of times on the remote and it moved but the screen went black/blank, then I pressed the standby button to reset it and the light on tv flashed blue and flashed on and off for around 20 times or so then it stopped on solid blue which is the colour it goes to when it’s working ok. Only when it stopped blinking on and off was I able to turn the tv on again with the remote.

Tv is a Technika Lcd 32- 207

might not help but try a simple reset, unplug tv for 5 minutes, hold power button in on tv for 30 seconds then plug tv back in and try it. An update might help.

Use remote. Turn camera on smart phone and face it at the top of the remote, hit the buttons on remote and camera will pick up infrared flash if the channel buttons are working on remote. I know you said tv buttons also but maybe they both not working.

obviously it is not there the problem, there must be a problem in the standby software or main software, since you are not a tech i suggest you to carry it to a service center to reprogram it..
second possible chance is bad soc soldering..

The remote does change channels sometimes, for maybe 5 or 10 minutes after I’ve first turned the tv on, which is why I think the issue is with a component inside the tv itself rather than a remote control problem.

Also I’m iunsure what you mean by turn my phone camera on, do you mean put my phone camera on to video mode to pick up the infrared from the remote? If so I don’t think the remote is the issue as it changes channels just fine at first for a while, then it will stick on one channel and won’t change channels. I’m thinking a bad cap or comoonebt

yours TV used Vestel mainboards
you can try to log in service menu and from there do hard reset to reset yours TV as new..
service menu of vestel pressing menu on RC followed with 4 , 7 , 2 , 5 .

if didnt work google after vestel service menu

So you want to buy a new board before trying a simple update.

MENU, 4725, Diagnostic, Factory reset, OK.

I got in to the service menu and pressed factory reset, it then said press green so I pressed green button and tv went in to standby. Now tvs back on. Hopefully this will fix it. I’ll keep you all posted

I mean turn your camera on like to photo, and just point it at the top of the remote. It will show a flash on your remote every time you hit a button. If it isn't flashing then that's the issue. Simple to rule that out, it probably isn't but is good to check

Question: would a replacement main board fix the issue or is it one of the other boards inside the tv with the fault? Which capacitor/component is responsible for changing channels?
